Magenta Z4s - Opinions pls

Hi Guys,

2 units of magenta Z4s in the mkt now. What do you guys think? Difficult to sell later?

Also, what are your thoughts on re-spraying the car and changing the colour on the e-registration at LTA?

I think there are other units on the market which are of more popular colours - why not just buy one of those instead of going to the trouble of re-spraying and re-registering? Z4 market is quite active - one or two units pop up every month. So if you can afford to wait - wait if there isn't one in a colour you like now.

Thanks for the feedback.

The reason I mentioned the magenta units as one of them is quite well-specced, 1 owner and low mileage plus its an 04 car. I don't want something too new as I would prefer the depn to hit 'steady rate' as its only an interim car for me.

Breyton, you're right I guess, I can afford to wait. I'm not in a hurry frankly. Personally like silver or grey/titanium.

Ryan, thanks looked at them but they don't fit my requirement generally.

Other opinions?

one of the magenta unit sellin by the dealer is advertising a cashback price. personally went down to see the car and am very disappointed by the tactics they use to lure customers down.

price of 137 is base on a full loan with cashback. without full loan the price they're asking is 148k.

imo. kinda misrepresentation..

Kiske - I think I know which dealer you're talking about. :) I agree, misrepresentation. Not comfortable with such tactics - from what I know, quite prevalent amongst used car dealers...sigh!

Lulu - Yes, the car looks good. But 3 owners already. I'm concerned about export price. Do you have any idea on the body value for the Z4?

No wonder, am surprised by their "low" advert price and yet no taker......

First and foremost, numbers of ownership will not affect the export price.
Secondly, more owners does not necessarily means that the car is a lemon albeit some wear and tear.
Not forgeting Z4 parts are tried and tested in the initial stage on the E46. That is to say, any glitches should be resolved by then. If both buyer/seller is sincere party, i see no problem in getting the car to be inspected by either BVO or J4C.Alternatively, ask for past servicing record

Being a lifestyle car, it's probably a second car or to some might just wana "own" such ride. That might explain the quick change of hand.

Z4 pricing is pretty firm, damm but true.

the magenta one @ Absolute Euromotors?

Prev owner, mods, condition, accidents?

how do u go about checking service history @ performance ? what do u need? n call wat number?

you can conduct the PPI at J4C or BVO or at STA. Not sure about the previous owner himself unless perhaps he is on the forum here.

to be fair, the magenta one you mentioned is well specced with some quality mods. the only issue is colour and pricing.

urm.. i noticed mods to the exhaust system, air-intake, alutec strut brace and acs grills on the fenders..

is there any other mods on the car?


is magenta reli so hard a color to sell in future?

I guess we have differences in what we term well-specced. :) I think the owner got some factory installed sport suspension, not sure the details.

Except for a bodykit, ecu tuning, bbk, what is left to do? (assuming u keep the car NA)

The issue on the colour is what I'm debating. If it is so easy to sell, this car would have been taken off the mkt ages ago no?
