Yes I was referring to reactions among us. We should be impartial because we are nice people.
As for the legal undertakings in this country, I agree with everyone that it is not fair and will never be fair. Locals will carry the burden of setting good examples for FTs. So sentencing-wise, locals will get 2x harsher. Stupid dumb treatment.
Who still remember the pledge of Singapore? Recite it and see if it still fits into today's context. Sad.

Actually I do agree with...
IMO the verdict and penalty is far too harsh. Now his kids, if he was stealing to feed them in the first place, will be even worse off and no opportunity to lead normal lives again with their dad behind bars and they may not even survive!
So much for encouraging fertility amongst Singaporeans.
Of cos if he trying to feed himself, then he went to wrong place to look for guni hoon

1 type of rice feed many types of people. If only everyone is nice and honest, the world would be a better place. We can only try our best to help if possible. Just hope the judge will be lenient in passing down the sentence.

Like what MW had said "mitigation circumstances" will have an effect on the outcome. It's a double edge sword. It can help innocent people or could also help s-holes.

Aiyah I ever see a whole family pushing out several trolleys of groceries without paying.
I heard total was a few thousand dollars.

some counters were unattended, so they took several plastic bags + cable ties,
put what they like inside the trolley together with the plastic bag (this is mustafa centre)
when they push out, the security checked with them, but sadly no receipt, gg for them
Although, they were smart enough to take things without those "tags" else it may have sound off the alarm

must steal to feed baby.....
how to charge him?
I think if someone ask me for some money to buy food, i will give.....
what I cannot stand is when they use the money I gave them for other non essential things like cigarettes or drugs....
I don't mind donating sometimes.... but i really hate it when I get "conned"......

wwhenever elderly ask me money.. I always replied I cannot give u money but I can treat u a meal.. what u want to eat? I will buy a pack of economical rice for him or her...
