Hi Sidewinder,

i think is a very personal choice.......for me the only Merc i will buy is either the SLK or SL and maybe the C class (maybe). ...for drive wise i must say that BM has got a better drive........
my vote goes to the BM for this....

*p/s you buying 1 more car?

Cheers

Re: Merc E200ML vs BMW E60

Hi,

I faced a similar dilemma about a year back, and decided on the E60 over the W211. My main reasons for doing so are as follows:
- Better driving characteristics.
- More rear legroom in the E60. The W211 feels quite cramped behind.
- More wood veneer in the E60. I like it that the wood paneling on the doors of the E60 extends all the way, compared to halfway on the W211.
- iDrive in the E60 makes the car more high-tech.
- Lack of a special 'new' feeling in the W211. Those who have sat in Merc cabs before will know how the interior looks like. However, when they sit in an E60, they are likely to feel the unique, never seen before interior.

Choosing Merc or BMW, u call it Crunch time?

E60 anytime

Re: Merc E200ML vs BMW E60

recently i did a merc driving course...as much as i dislike merc, i came away impressed with their electronics. their innovation in that area is likely better than bmws though....steering is light without much feel. but more relaxing inside.

Re: Merc E200ML vs BMW E60

I went to test drive E230 and I settled with E60 :)

Sorry, off-topic, but I am very curious!

Besides Singapore, is there any country in the world that BMW's kena become public taxis (not pirate or private ones)...

If so, which country ... or BMW never allows its cars to become taxis?

U can find E60 M5 Taxi in Nurburgring Nordschleife.

Re: Merc E200ML vs BMW E60

personal view:
I think both the cars offer different things. We have a W211 E200k in the family and it is used as a work horse. Low end and mid-range torque is pretty good in city driving, given the smaller supercharged engine, although the engine doesnt feel refined. Maintenance cost seems lower overall and for some reason we feel the rear seat ergonomics are better than the E60. Again, pros and cons on both cars, but overall for styling, driving dynamics and individual preferance, its E60 for me.

Re: Merc E200ML vs BMW E60

Wow....

Looks like E60 is the choice amongst us all.....

regards to AC323 question, nope bro, im not getting a 2nd car, my deal with the dealer for the e46 coupe broke down and i bought some parts b4 i got the car, am now stuck with some e46 parts....but its okie, i will prob keep for a while fst...

am w/o a ride now, but flying to Taiwan later at 1pm, so when i cm bk, i will have to really actively urgently get a ride, im thinking the e200ml or e60 again...

sianzz...

maybe i should ask if theres any 523 on sale here and do the search allll over again?

Re: Merc E200ML vs BMW E60

Hi Sidewinder,
