My DIY dry CF trims

Here is how it all began... a workshop gashed my passenger door quite badly but i didnt realise until a while later so no point going back to argue. Try to solve it instead... didnt like robson's CF as the lacquer is too thick n i dont see myself paying too much for it (personal preference).
So i went to some reputable sticker company, they didnt dare do for me because they said they cant guarantee good workmanship, and that the bends around my aircon vents are near impossible. Also the gash on my trimming wont be covered up, and that the sticker will also show an indentation, which i realised later its not the case.
During recent meetup, fellow forumer DIY his own trimming for the X6. But the X6 trims were all rectangular, meaning it doesnt surround the aircon vents, so he didnt need to remove the trims, just paste over and slowly cut to shape with pen knife.
Anyway i went to buy my own CF... pluck out the trims which were pretty easy... only piece that i had to deal with simple wiring was the front passenger piece that was quite long and included the ignition button.... after 8 straight hours of work, fingers damn pain from pressing & pulling the stickers, hair dryer also burn me couple of times... here is the result.
Cant say workmanship not good cause there is no one to compare with... cant say its good also coz there are flaws... but overall what the heck, i'm happy :)
The simple pieces were a breeze... those that requires folding were tougher...
Gonna try again on another car then can open business liao :lol2:

Centre console was a pain... i didnt know how to remove the trim so i had to break up the stickers and slowly paste and cut. Gear knob i also dunno how to remove, so did the same thing. Close 1 eye, can live with the joint lines...

Rear centre... may wanna matt black the compartment cover instead.

You have a problem with that?

I have seen this DIY mod. The stickers is fabulous. Very close to the real thing. But then again, Marcus should stick to photography......

Nice piece of work, Marcus. Had a look last nite and they do look like the real thing, especially the 3D effect.

U should drop by a workshop to remove the centre console and try again. I think u will get it perfect!

Yeah thought of it... that one damn complicated... but the thought of removing parts erk me... if normal trims is ok, the centre looks like alot of other parts gotta come out as well...
