My new set of E60 brakes

Re: My new set of E60 brakes

Hi guys

After getting the PML M5 bodykit when i first purchased my E60 a yr back, i have just change my boring 17" standard rims to the M6 19" (Italy one only) recently. It seems that once this modification starts, like diffcult to stop.... its likes an addicition - only limited by $$$ and ideas?!

Now, especially since my new M6 rims are only 5 spokes i.e. more bare, i am thinking of doing something to the brake callipers and/or brake discs.

questions:
1. as i am not driving a high powered M5 model, does it makes sense to spend $$$ to change to a new set of say brembo brake system, besides the obvious asthetic appeal?

2. should i consider spraypainting with high temperature paint to say red colour for my brake callipers since it would be cheaper?

3. or would it looks ok if i were to just install a brembo cover over the current callipers?

any suggestions on which is a better option, pricing/costs and where to have the 'comestic surgery' done is much appreciated.

btw, i changed to my M6 rims at Hurry Tyres as suggested by TripleM and i think the pricing, service and results is very pleased. :)

1. That's mainly up to you, changing to BBK wld be both performance and aesthetic, it's not cheap or something all would do but it's something you won't regret either.

2. you can spray ur calipers red if you want to, but it'll still look very "bare" cause of the rotors, it's still small u see..

3. ok, this one is really up to individual already man, you happy you do ... but IMHO i say pls don't , to me i think it's abit stupid,

What could be a cheaper alternative is that ( IF you're driving the 530 then too bad) look for a set of 2nd hand 530 brakes and calipers which should be bigger in size and i mean rotors, you can then source for slotted or crossdrilled rotors to be used back with ur stock calipers, any more info on this u can contact BVO or Juzz 4 Cars and im sure they'd be more than willing to help you source for the brakes and the slotted/or drilled rotors.

Hope this has helped you abit and happy modding!...

Just added Eibach pro spacers at South East, can someone advise where can I find the black bolts like the OEM ones? The bolts that came with the spacers are silver plated. Or can I plate them in black?

perhaps you could try getting them anodised black? not sure if its possible but if it is, it will be more durable than painting them black.
