Actually I believe it's FOC as he said he will settle for me. And yes, it's my first time purchasing a 2nd hand car. Sorry sorry if I sound sua ku..

Bro, better make sure it is FOC and under warranty. It is not uncommon for them to say A and then do B. Settle for you means your car AND the repair bills?

You can bring it to any other workshop(s) and QC as many times as you like and find one you feel confident in to handle all the issues, if you feel uncomfortable with the dealer's workshop.

Suggest you go and ask the dealer more about his workshop first and do some research. No harm inquiring about the basic stuff like name, location etc. Should be able to give you a lead from there.

Re: Need help!!!!

if tecnic is good, u may convince them to be a Site Sponsor here.

Re: Need help!!!!

can tell it's your first time buying second hand car. the used car industry is like that one.

the bad? you get what you see. if you forget to see, too bad.
the good? you get what you see. really. sometimes you buy new car, test drive feels like that, actual car feels totally different. u get a LEMON.

if you cannot trust, then take it to a site sponsor and just shell out your own money to get it fixed PROPERLY. got few also at sin ming. just go ask for a quote before going your dealer's workshop.

there's BOSS MOTORSPORTS and BVO, both are highly recommended by forum members.

for small issues, i tend to go to my own preferred workshop - KIAN TEONG AUTO (1st floor). most people go to him for wheel alignment, but I go there for smaller issues that are easy to resolve as they turn around cars quick.

I find the auto workshop industry to be a murky pond. But I'd think allegiance goes to the paymaster, whoever is paying the dole for the deal.

Might be wise to have your own technician or friend to take a look or check. Never know what they tell you is the truth. Due diligence.

Re: Need help!!!!

Prepare to spend multiple time going to the workshop to fix up different things, that may appear down the road.

Use the workshop they provide first since it's FOC/under their warranty, and try to understand what they replace/fix.

Otherwise, get ready to fork out min 3-5k at your own workshop (maybe one of the sponsors) to bring the car up to good running condition.

Low oil pressure is serious, better get it check out as worse case is a dead engine. There are plenty on threads in this forum on all the answers that you seek.

Re: Need help!!!!

hi Deepster, welcome to BMW.
I too bought a pre-owned '05 e90 320i almost 3yrs ago and intend to drive till 2015.
so far what you encounter is normal issue for this car of this age.
if u got a good & responsible dealer, he get the issues rectified and u end up a happy customer.
otherwise, take it as saving from buying new car, fork out from yr own pocket and replaced whatever wear & tear and enjoy yr car for next 3yrs
honestly, what u experiencing now is very common for buying pre-owned.
CNY is near, best you get a workshop to do a thorough check so that u can have peace of mind and enjoy yr holidays.

Re: Need help!!!!

agree, if kaput during CNY is super sian. no workshop open. somemore need to run ard.

Thank you for your advises guys. Am going down to the workshop tmr and see what they say. From my knowledge, the door issue would be the actuator failure. Replacement would be about $120. The engine oil pressure light, I'm not so sure still but most likely they bomb me say service already when they didn't. Will watch them service tomorrow. For the aircon, I have no idea for the random smoke/vapor coming out. Anyone has an idea if its a common problem and what's the cause of it?

Re: Need help!!!!

Oil pressure light coming on - unlikely its because they did not do servicing......unless you you are talking about the time to service light ...... 2 different things altogether.
