Hi guys,
Need some legal advice here. A few months ago, I placed a $20,000 deposit for a 2nd-hand car. However, because this seller is a friend of my friend, I did not sign any proper agreement with this seller (stupid x 1).
And I was even more stupid to pay him the $20,000 in cash (stuupid x 2).
Then he disappeared.
I had called him and text him many times but can't get him. My friend also tried looking for him but to no avail.
Yes I am really foolish and too trusting. And I only know his first name. I don't even know what he does, or where he live or work. This is a really really painful lesson to learn.
However, I do have a previous text message from him - the day I paid him the deposit - that he has received a $20k deposit from me, and I can pay him the balance when the car is ready to be transferred to me.
My foolishness aside, is there any way that I can seek legal recourse? Are text messages admissable evidences in court?
Thanks...
