NEW 2011 BMW 3 Series

Here are the first images showing the next generation 2011 BMW 3 Series, a car that will compete with the curent A4 and the upcoming Merc C Class.
Also, the next 3 series will come with the company’s super-efficient three-cylinder powerplant. As you can see, the design mix influences from the original Concept CS – first revealed at the 2007 Shanghai Motor Show with those of the latest 5-Series GT.

Essentially one half of the firm’s new 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine, a new 1.5-litre three-cylinder unit will be available in petrol and diesel form.

BMW plan to offer the most advanced 3-Series ever, fitted with all the usual EfficientDynamics gizmos – including stop-start and energy recuperation

The 2011 BMW 3 Series is set to be unveiled officially in the coming months, with sales starting in early 2011 most probably.

A 1.5L 3 cylinder engine? isnt tt like a "heavier" vw polo bluemotion.. will it move..? :laughing:

The official BMW sources reported earlier that the F30 will be available only in end 2012.

Your SE was referring to facelifted E92/ E93 and the next generation F series will be available in end 2013

Looks weird. Furthermore, the squinty eyes at the back and frowning eyes at the front are not compatible with the BMW Joy concept.

That is just a rendering and not conclusive. IMHO, that was quite a bad photoshop. If you look closely, you will find that some proportions are way out. Anyway, the next 3 is not due til 2012.

Oic, its an artist's impression. The F30 will be launched around the London 2012 Olympics (July - August 2012) and heard that BMW cars will be supplied to fetch VIPs around.

My SE mentioned the new 3 series for sedan should be out 2012 but the coupe / convertible will be out 2011. The latest facelift (believe Nov 2009?) includes a sportier looking bonnet which has an additional line in the middle of the bonnet tapering toward the BMW logo. Sunroof also comes standard. Xenon lights are also standard for the 320i.

As a separate note, the new X1 will be on the road in July

Look at all the spyshots/vids of testing. All sedans. Typical roll-out is sedan>coupe>cab>touring.
