Here are the first images showing the next generation 2011 BMW 3 Series, a car that will compete with the curent A4 and the upcoming Merc C Class.
Also, the next 3 series will come with the company’s super-efficient three-cylinder powerplant. As you can see, the design mix influences from the original Concept CS – first revealed at the 2007 Shanghai Motor Show with those of the latest 5-Series GT.
Essentially one half of the firm’s new 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine, a new 1.5-litre three-cylinder unit will be available in petrol and diesel form.
BMW plan to offer the most advanced 3-Series ever, fitted with all the usual EfficientDynamics gizmos – including stop-start and energy recuperation
The 2011 BMW 3 Series is set to be unveiled officially in the coming months, with sales starting in early 2011 most probably.
