I spent some time at the AD yesterday and did a more detailed test on the exhaust.
On firing up the car, it definitely sound meaner. Idling is louder than the stock unit but not as loud as the Akra/Eisenmann. Pushed the car out of the showroom and it sounds definitely louder and raspy (bassy). It perform as it is suppose to be. Next went up the AYE and did a test on crusing speed. Did crusing at varying speed from 50km/h to 100km/h. Definitely no drone. It gets so quiet (compared to other aftermarket) around 100kmh inside the cabin that i was thinking whether it is going to be as muted as the stock unit. Wind down the window and it definitely sounds louder and more bassy than the stock unit.
Eventually, put a set on my car. My initial thoughts (after 80km on it)
1) The low revs actually feels tighter now (butt feel). Was told it should pull better at high revs too.
2) No drone.
3) Gets to hear more sound in the cabin when trying to pull from low revs or car in too low revs at high gear.
4) Sounds louder but will not wake your neighbour up at cold start.
5) Throttle Blip more pronounced.
5) It is definitely ligher than stock. I did try picking up the exhaust myself.
6) LTA approval within 30 mins.
In short, if you are looking for performance gain, go for the Akra Evo. If not, M Performace exhaust may be a good choice. It is made of Inconel with titanium tips. The only thing that i do not like is that the tips are too short (though nicely flushed with the bumper) as I want to see more of the laser engraved ///M logo.
