Hi everyone,

Newly registered in this forum, but have been an ardent supporter of BMW over the last decade or so. Found out about this forum from the a newpaper article, and so here I am.

Am getting a new car soon, and am contemplating between a BMW 325, or a Lexus GS300. Anyone has opinions regarding this?

The Lexus' interior attracts me, but the BMW is a better drive. Or does anyone have any alternatives?

If you enjoying driving and would choose to blast down the long winding way home instead of the ramrod straight, quicker highway - then it's definitely the 325.

If you really need that little bit more space and luxury/refinement is higher up the order of priorities, then take the GS300.

hmm the is250 isn't a bad choice too. but as a bmw lover, go for the e90 325i. and if you can, wait for the facelifted e90. it's nicer. haha

Thanks for the welcome guys, was indeed the wedding convoy article that brought me here..real interesting stuff. When will the new e90 be out? And does all 325s come with iDrive as a standard feature?

not sure when pml will bring in the facelift e90. but yeah all 325i comes with the idrive.

Actually, not all 325s come with iDrive. The batches from the first couple of years did, but the last I saw at PML about a month ago, they didn't come with iDrive. Perhaps with the launch of the facelifted model, they might make iDrive standard.

How much would iDrive cost additionally? Last time I went to test drive, the unit was without iDrive and was quoted 163k for it. Wouldn't want to pay too much extra for the iDrive. Or would you guys consider moving up to the 335 a better deal overall?

I think iDrive with Navigation is about 9k extra. Better confirm with your SE.

I wouldn't move up to 335 for better overall package - I'd move up for that engine alone!
