This is probably one of the cleanest and lowest mileage 3.6 996s in town. Time to get out there and drive it like it was meant to be driven... ;-)

hey! yeah, might take it up north for the lotus drift course if my Z4's clutch is not ready yet....

thanks. with your stamp of approval, i think resale value of the rims has just gone up. maybe i shouldn't paint the spokes black afterall....

also, i thought they were cast, but ah beng driver was inspecting them real closely and told me it says forged on the rims. steady pom pi pi. :)

Re: our beloved 350Z's replacement

Have faith in Enkei..it's bloody good rim with strong racing history.
But I am still a Volk whore, permanently volked.

1) steering's a little lighter than the 350Z but gives more feedback than my Z4's steering. also, unlike the electric steering in the Z4, i find that i have to turn the 996's steering wheel a lot more at low speeds and when parking.
2) throttle pedal's really stiff, makes it hard to stomp on the pedal during traffic light sprints.
3) brakes are a little mushier than the stoptechs on my Z4 and initial bite isn't as good. similar to the brembos i had on the 350Z though.
4) there's actually a little more road noise than the 350Z at highway speeds.
5) exhaust is quiet. i want to remove the mufflers completely, but i'm not sure how stupidly loud it'll be or if there'll be a loss in low end torque.
6) more relaxing drive than the Z4 since its a tiptronic. tiptronic lag not as noticeable as it was in the 350Z's auto tranny, but still not as immediate as my manual Z4.
7) driver sits higher in the 996 than either the 350Z or Z4, so better visibility.
8.) car's ride height more practical than either the 350Z or the Z4.
9) back seats are a great convenience!
10) its really troublesome to access the boot space in front.

p.s. Remus325, think i saw your 997 at wheelock yesterday? sweet ride.... nicer ass than the 996.

Yeap. I was parked at Wheelock from 11am - 5pm. Definitely the easiest place to park in the orchard road area. :)

Also love to back seats. Great especially after grocery/shopping trips. That front boot space gets pretty hot after a drive so not so good for food storage.

Most people can't really tell the difference between the 996 and the 997 since they are so similar. It is nice that they widened the ass on the 997 (width for the 997 C2 = width on the 996 C4) though. Looks even more porky now.

Just realized from your pics that there are less slits on the rear wing / engine cover for the newer model (5 vs 7). I guess we learn a new thing every day.

And those Enkei 18s look like 19s on your Porky.

and my favourite for today; can you spot the C-130? the surface is so smooth and reflective you can make out the individual engines of the plane...
