Plastic paint protection

I regularly attach a Saris Bicycle Rack to my car, and even though it's designed to fit without damage, the rubber feet and metal clips can sometimes leave marks or chips. The tension strap clips chipped the paint off the boot edge of my old car, so I don't want to relive that experience with my new car.

Was wondering if anyone is aware of any sort of stick-on plastic (clear) protection that can be placed on the danger zones but can be removed again later without damaging the paintwork itself! Appreciate any suggestions...

thanks!

Re: Plastic paint protection

BMW has this thing called clear bra which is a clear sticker to protect against stone chips. that might work for you.

3M also has an automotive film that is transparent and provides the protection. If you look into some of the local car mags like Carma, Hotstuff, etc, you usually find some shops in Ubi that sell the films. They can cut and install them for you.
