I am not blaming government for the flood.

I am blaming them for not telling the whole truth. What am I, a kid?

Started with the argument that it was NOT FLOODING, but just PONDING.

Now saying "flooding situation here is not very serious.... only went up to 10 cm." I have a ruler in front of me. 10 cm is way shorter than my c......

Never mind. Just look at the photos. Truth.

BUT!!!!!!! I can understand how most would feel...increasing cost of living and taxes, surely the govt better do a good job to ensure the life of every Singaporean. And this is what the govt of Singapore has been trying to do and is trying their best to. No one is perfect and no govt system out there is flawless. There are policies that benefit majority and unfortunately doesnt cover some. But that's how policies are.

All I can say is that we should be fortunate that it was only "Ponding" at specific areas and not an islandwide "Flooding". It is true that many of our drainage systems are built ages ago and they may need improvements. So lets see how these affected areas are going to be improved and lets judge again. Look, Orchard road didnt flood yday...Did the govt solve it or it wasn't raining there???

Even though we may not agree with some of the policies out there but lets be positive and be thankful we have a govt who actually listens and cares. They may not be perfect but they try to aim to be ideal for us.

Lack of drainage is 1 part of the problem. There are too many buildup areas in Singapore. With buildup area, water can't go thru cement resulted in loads of water on surface. If those ppl jaga dam nvr check weather forecast to let out xtra water, hor sei liao loh.

I don't think there is a need to apologise for anything at all. If you are unhappy with the situation, you blame the people who created the system whether it is drainage or politics. You go manhunt for the source at the highest level. End of story.

At least we don't sugarcoat reality with cheap words or downplay serious problems with brushing them off. If we are keyboard warriors, these guys are liars and actors. Who is worser here?

And I'm tired of the motto of 'if you think you are so good, go join the system'. We don't have to be better than them to join the system. Wait.. better than who? TPL? Kee Chiu? or the guy who said this is merely ponding? Exactly we are not better than them which is why we stay put with what we do. Because I think most of us can't do covering things up, trivialise issues and still sleep well at nights. Yes we aren't better than the system because we are more honest.

Serving people is one thing.

Being a politician is another.

At times, the objectives are congruent. Not always.

Actually I have a theory - during the haze period, cloud seeding was carried out by our neighbours to create ice particles in the clouds to form rain drops. Coincidentally, an ice hailstorm occurred in the western part of Singapore. And coincidentally, the west of Singapore was one of the first points of landfall for the prevailing winds from Indo which were heavy laden with moisture (or ice?) after crossing the seas..
