dunno how to explain this but typically from what I hv seen n experienced, tires which have much stiffer side walls and squarish shoulder blocks have wider visual appearance. In fact, really seem wider in width as well
Eg, my 265 PS2 didnt rub on my prev M3 but when i put on the RE55 with same width, my rear rubs at high speed bump n corners....

RE-01R is towards semi-slicks cat with threadwear of 140.....most pure semi-slicks are always wider when compared to street tires of the same width profile....

Since re-o1R is 'wider', can I use it at the rear and keep my PS2 in front? Staggered brand....serious question.

PAK is totally right!
I uses RE-01R to track in Sepang in my E60......it's way above PS2....but still loose to Toyo888, Yoko048 or PSC.
But the RE-01R does well in the wet!!
I was going at 190km/h along NS in the wet......kekekeke
If you got spare $, U can try out RE-01R....then you can corner much faster.....

I actually have the RE-01Rs on my Fiat Grande Punto, 15 inch only.
Combined with the Eibach / Bilstein combi suspension, the handling is very good for my car, in fact i could keep up with higher cc cars on malaysian b-roads because my car handles better.....
Have used SO-3s and Adrenalin before this, the RE-01R is better than both.
And yes, when it rains, the tires are the happiest....

PSC for track only.& Yes you are right the grip is better than PS2 .

U rich mah.....I only can afford Toyo T1R for street use.....RE-01R for track use.....
Now you use PSC for track & RE-01R for street.......I loose......

I switched from PS2 to RE-01R last year and it was like night and day. Other than a high level of road noise, the Bridgestones do everything well, with a high level of ultimate grip when cornering and progressive breakaway on the limit. Heard that it's been replaced in Japan already though.
