Next one:

Say you are the delivery chief at Munich. Twelve E92s sitting in front of you, all looking identical - 1 is a fake M3, 11 are real.

The only thing you know - the fake M3 differs in weight, dunno heavier or lighter though. You have a huge perfectly balanced scale. The scale only tells you which side weighs more than the other side. Wouldn't tell you exact weight. You can load as many cars as you want on any side of the scale.

What is the smallest number of times you must use the scale in order to always find the fake M3?

3 Times.

1) 6 vs 6 - see which side is lighter (assuming the fake is lighter and the rest is equal weight)
2) The lighter sixe -> 3 vs 3 - see which side is lighter
3) Just put any two on the scale - Same mean the odd is fake, if one side lighter means is fake.

Close, but not quite.

Do note that the fake M3 can be heavier or lighter.

Prease lah, don't look for short cuts. Cannot check website, cannot tell from engine. Use purely from differences in weight to deduce.
