Rear brake pads mileage for f10

horrible

Well-Known Member
Just done my first servicing.
Gotten a shocked to see my rear pads wearing down pretty quickly.
My ride currently only 13k mileage. Told to replace during my next servicing.

My previous RWD merc that's 35k mileage also left with at least half it's pad life.

Re: Rear brake pads mileage for f10

U use the autohold function often? Usually those who use it regularly will experience higher wear rate. Mine is 11k km n still ok coz used autohold 3-4 times only

Re: Rear brake pads mileage for f10

Mine just replaced the rear last week with EBC Red pads at 22km.. i m using Auto-H all the times...

Btw MW, the last time you have looked for Hawk pads for 535 but no available will have another option by replacing with the EBC Red pads..the bite is sooo much better than stock and less brake dust...

Yes I use my auto hold function regularly but having to replace pads at 25k+ is kinda fast. Shouldn't be the autohold causing it as lt just hold the car at a stop. It should be when the car is moving that's causing more wear.

PML told me its normal for f10 and I tot I kena bs again.

I know R2D sells...

Re: Rear brake pads mileage for f10

Well.. I am of the opinion to change stock brake. At least the front. Genuinely not abt the looks and trend but for the perspective of safety. Don't u guys feel that the stock brakes gets "soft" and when u suddenly need the E-Brake etc its not there?

Re: Rear brake pads mileage for f10

Stock brakes rated good enough for street use. If u find pedal soft can consider changing the stock hoses to ssbh, maybe bleed and replace brake fluid, and change brakepads to an aftermarket one. U get much improved braking feel and performance for a fraction of the cost of a bbk.

BBK is for tracking when u don't want the fade after many laps. And for those ppl who are vain. I am vain and track for fun (not serious) so I ordered a bbk lor.. *flamesuit on*

Re: Rear brake pads mileage for f10

I recently just changed at 21k and was thinking to change to other brand but was promted that the stock one come switch a built-in sensor, where third party doesn't.

Ended up with stock

Re: Rear brake pads mileage for f10
