Zag, not so worried about the low end torque, with DMS + CIP 19.1, the car feels quite lively, currently.

OT a bit, totoseow, do you know what is the offset in our rims? In the other thread, on BBKs, I think someone (Barry) said we can't put in Stoptechs because there won't be space?

19" the stop techs will go in..thats why i changed my rims...prepare for BBK. i dunno the offset..but if u keep ur 124s...u can use brembos. 355 rotors...will fit. stop tech has spec a 380 for the 530s....siow...

ok.. sounds right it is minimal for the 3 lit. weight loss is definitely a plus. Do u have to get DMS to change some parameters with new exhaust muffler?
so what is the deal with group buy? still on? guess we need to sit in one of the bro's e60 to check out the exhaust note and if it is dronning or not. sometime it's different stroke for different folks.

Re: Remus or Sebring exhaust for E60

fong kim quoted remus 1300 sebring 1150 but no stock until jan for remus.

he also said both stock exhaust and remus are about the same weight???

Re: Remus or Sebring exhaust for E60

that is heavy then, beats the purpose..

when i change exhaust i look for two things:
1. sound
2. weight savings

Re: Remus or Sebring exhaust for E60

if you like the sound of the remus but dont like the tips - get the remus and ask FK to put on some normal tips for you :)

Wah lau bro, people put after-mkt exhaust wld prefer non-stk tips whereas u prefer the other way round keke. My personal view is that it might affect the resale of your exhaust later on if u saw off and weld on another tip especially if the latter is less aggressive looking. My personal view only though!

Heh..heh, I like stealth mod :lol2: The extra sound is nice, but want it to look stock....it'll be awesome if after putting in SC, uprate brakes to Brembos (paint the red calipers to silver, again to look stock), debadge....and then go racing! must be damn fun! :lol2:

Only thing cannot disguise are the bigger rotos

Re: Remus or Sebring exhaust for E60

heh, i fyou want it to look stock, dont debadge! a debadged 5 series can mean anything from 520i to 545i...... people will stay away. just keep ur stock badge and lure them in keke.

can can ...u can cover ur rotors by buying wheel caps.....like those use on taxis...the wheel spins..but the caps dun....

Re: Remus or Sebring exhaust for E60

ha ha you can sell your remus exhaust tip.

why not you go and buy a 520i badge.that would be fun.then chiet all.
are you serious abt sc.

www.zenner-tuning.com

does any one know much about them

Re: Remus or Sebring exhaust for E60

nah not serious about SC, not that hard core, the most I'll do is brakes....after that bankrupt already :lol2:

I did think about debadging....since the car does have a nice clean look without the badge.

Ok back to exhaust

I called the guy at www.sebring.com.sg, he says Remus tend to be a little louder than Sebring, but their tone is about the same, i.e. Sebing is just as low and bassy, just that when cruising, you're more likely to hear the sound of the Remus in the cabin with windows up than the Sebring. Anyone has experience on this?

thanks again...

If that is true, then might as well go for the Sebring coz cheaper and u dun get the drone at cruising. Best of both worlds.

Re: Remus or Sebring exhaust for E60

Went down to Fong Kim at lunch. Hey, the guy there said the exact same thing as Andy, why not just operate on the stock exhaust, he says he can make it sound like a Remus or Sebring or even louder if I want...hah hah....quoted $350 for the job. He also says the Remus or Sebrings are no lighter than the stock...

So now the question is:

What are the pitfalls of such an operation? What can go wrong?

Nice thing is, I get to keep the stock exhaust tips.

Re: Remus or Sebring exhaust for E60

thats load of crap. look at the original n then any other reputable after market exhaust. based on size alone u know which is heavier. the stock exhaust is the size of a turtle that u find on kuantan beaches!

Re: Remus or Sebring exhaust for E60

Eggz
Get the Remus, cut the tips off (keep it) and weld those 76mm chrome tails and you are done. Next time when selling, weld back the factory tips no worries...swee2x

Yah, then 3 mths later they won't remember u and when u drop by, they will ask u "Wanna buy a sports exhaust?" Anyway, an op shd only be $250.

For me, so far no regrets coz I didn't want the droning exhaust, juz wanted more free flow. Cheap and good fix. I did lup the 76" mm twin pipes that evil TripleM suggested. That costs me a further $80.

Re: Remus or Sebring exhaust for E60

Ok lah, finally decided, going to go for the Sebring.....
