See what someone did to my new car

Re: See what someone did to my new car

I think BlackVue scores quite well on the quality (of video). It has motion detection but it does not save you power b/c the cam is still running while it is "motion detecting". How it works is that it records video into a buffer memory and if there's a change in the video frame it starts recording to the memory card. So in short, it is still recording, just not saving to memory card.

Not sure if it would do well running 24/7 though.

Have you figured out where to get your 12V motorbike battery? Just leave it in the passenger seat lor (if you don't fetch ppl in your BMW).

Its hard to advise. A bit like asking which girl to marry (get the one with the biggest boobs).

That's a nice idea.

Re: See what someone did to my new car

any cams that can record 24hrs will do, with or without motion detectors.

For woman, basing on yesterday star awards, yes biggest boob win, ann kok

I dont know either thats why i asked. If u read my earlier post, the cam will drain till 12volt.and stops. He.said at 12volt my maser cant start. So i need to get a cam that doesnt drain too much power and also maybe a bigger powerpack, but I dun think there is.

Re: See what someone did to my new car

My Finevu has motion sensors when on parking mode, doesn't eat up much battery although the motion sensors are damn sensitive, light flickering it records, someone far away walks by, it records, a lizard pang sai from the ceiling, it records..in the end, every morning the Battery Drain alarm sounds.....

No way u can get a camera tat records 24/7 and yet doesn't drain battery..

Abit like buying BMW and then asking about FC....

Lol, lizard pangsai also record hahaha, thats overly sensitive.

I got a better picture now after talking to a few installer. I'll probably have to purchase 2 battery pack and charge it at home with a separate charger and change it when the battery is low. Troublesome it may sounds but no choice.

Re: See what someone did to my new car

I am using visiondrive front and back which has a motion detector and will switch to parking mode automatically.

As i drive the car each day i do not face problems of too much battery drain. However, i was still abt to start my car after 4 days and after driving it around a bit the error msg went off.

Exactly. Just the error detecting increased drain... which went away.

Re: See what someone did to my new car

Hmm in-car camera is only good for catching accidental knocks. Even if you position your cam in the opposite car, the vandal can creep up from another angle.

When my E46 got vandalised... window trimming got stolen, can you believe... I staked out overnight with a knife. Just sayin :silenced:

Re: See what someone did to my new car

it pisses me off just reading what happened to your car..i hate such idiots...argh!!

sorry to see the nasty dent..if it was me i wouldn't know what i would do honestly lol..my car was involved in a hit and run before..and i didn't have camera to catch that idiot who scratched the shit out of my passenger door..

hope you catch that idiot soon and give him a good one he wont forget!

Re: See what someone did to my new car

Usually not active in posting comments unless something useful to share...

However, I have to empathise here, as I am also a victim of countless - hit and runs, and possibly some vandalism/ accidental scratches here and there but inconsiderate M#$%F#$#s out there. Also just kenna another one deep scratch on the side..and thus can understand the blood boil feeling when we discover the damage and then start wondering where did I went/ parked/ who was beside, how it can happen, etc....forensic shit...just spoils the day.

Really do hope all carparks put up huge clear signs to say it is under cctv surveillance - wont stop, but may help deter those idiots that are toying with the idea of vandalising.
