Am I the only one who washes his car with bare hands?

u mean u use bare hands to wipe the car?

i think using wash mitt will be a better idea as it can wipe away dirt...

hands might push the dirt and scratch the car..

No, I mean using bare hands to wash the car instead of using sponge. I have been doing that with flowing water. Drying part I am using clean chamois.

Re: share what wash/polish product u use here!!

Every morning and all Autoglym products - from body shampoo to interior (wood, vinyl, leather), rims and tyres, metal/aluminium. The shampoo and alloy cleaner goes on every day and is wiped off with a chamois leather cloth (one for body and another for tyres) and finished off with a cotton cloth finisher.

Once a month I get a professional Autoglym clean and polish done and the interior treated and leather conditioned.

Once every six months, I get the full 6 hour VIP Autoglym treatment done which is everything from polishing, leather treatment to steam cleaning.

So in human terms:

Quick shower every morning.

$300 spa treatment once a month.

$1,500 spa and aromatherapy treatment get-away twice a year.

Re: share what wash/polish product u use here!!

wow a lot of maniacs here.

I have been using all kinds of mild abrasive and polishes etc. to clean the paint.

no longer.

From now on it's a claybar. if all you want to do is to clean the paint from bonded contaminants, nothing beats the claybar, safe and thorough, without needing to leave any product behind on the paint to add to the contamination.

whatever one uses to seal the paintwork after cleaning the paint, is arguable, but what is totally objective, indisputable, is the use of a claybar.

it passes every damn test, the plastic bag test, the finger test, everything, claybar just takes all the contaminant out.

Re: share what wash/polish product u use here!!

"clay barring" your car is an essential step in detailing a car.

However, a clay bar does not remove swirls nor does it remove paint oxidation. You would need either an abrasive polish to remove swirls or a filling glaze to mask them. A chemical cleaner or a cleaner wax is needed to remove paint oxidation.

Heh heh, so someone else also uses bare hands.
First, I used barehands with water to rinse, then I shampoo with sponge, and chamois cloth to press dry.

yes, agreed. Claybar is for cleaning the paint perfectly only. Filling in swirls (yaay, not for me now, since white car!), conditioning the paint with a pure polish, is all neccessary.

hi four4s,

unfortunately, no. I had to order mine from an online store and sent to me via vPost. Are you looking for a bottle of the Gummi Pflege? I have an extra one, I can let you have it at cost (item+shipping). drop a PM if you're interested, and I'll dig up my receipts to check how much it cost me.
