Side mirror cannot fold??

Hi

My e65 side mirror can fold up to close after parking car but 1 side cannot open to fold out when I wanna drive off..
Any bros have encountered it before?
Think it's the motor but can hear the motor sound...only like the mirror/gear seems to be jammed.
Any bros changed the motor and know the rough costs?

very common, i have the same problem. 1k to replace. if its driver side don't bother to replace.

Happen to my car also on the driver side. 1k from PML or other workshop cheaper?

Hi,

Changed mine, also driver side, last March.

Paid about S$850 for an equivalent made in Germany complete set. Workmanship included.

Done at BVO workshop in Sin Ming.

The mirror failed because the gear is made of plastic and break easily. You heard the sound proved that the motor is ok.

Just change my driver side.
Paid S$550 excluding GST for it.

Thanks for ur feedback guys..

Wondering since my motor is working..perhaps can just dismantle and change the plastic gears/teeth?
Or alternatively buy a scrapped car set from propel?

7 series mirror closing is quite cool as it folds upwards...pity though that it dosent last..
My other cars though Japanese,have never encountered such a problem..

I tried to remove the motor with gear but not possible as it is moulded into the module.
Propel selling used complete module at $750.
