Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

I'll put all the blame solely on Han Wei, for turning up to watch the big match between Man U vs Chelsea few weeks ago
If it was drawn, we would have won the tittle!!!!!!! LOL..........

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

England's provisional squad:

Goalkeepers - Joe Hart, David James, Robert Green [No surprises, but not England's strength as well.]

Defenders - Leighton Baines, Jamie Carragher, Ashley Cole, Michael Dawson, Rio Ferdinand, Glen Johnson, Ledley King, John Terry, Matthew Upson, Stephen Warnock [Jamie Carragher? Matthew Upson? I thought defenders are supposed to be confident......]

Midfielders - Gareth Barry, Michael Carrick, Joe Cole, Steven Gerrard, Tom Huddlestone, Adam Johnson, Frank Lampard, Aaron Lennon, James Milner, Scott Parker, Theo Walcott, Shaun Wright-Phillips [Scott Parker is a surprise inclusion. Ashley Young is a surprise exclusion.]

Forwards - Darren Bent, Peter Crouch, Jermain Defoe, Emile Heskey, Wayne Rooney

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

many speedy midfielders selected.... walcott, lennon, wright-phillips... i think one or two will drop out in the final 23.

Ashley Young is much better than Walcott when it comes to final product...in fact out of all the wide wingers selected, Walcott's final product is the worst...I expect to see him dropped for the final 23.

All three named are right flanked wingers. On the left, Ashley Young looks the best candidate (too bad Gareth Bale is not English). Joe Cole second.

+1

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

Forwards ... who will miss the final 23? heskey or bent? I think the club partnership of defoe and crouch will get them through.... bent has been scoring regularly in the league, while heskey has not....

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

and what is Heskey doing there? I would rank Gabriel Agbonlahor (spelling?) and Carlton Cole in front of Heskey..

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

Hmm...but Agbonlahor and Carlton Cole satisfy that criteria too...and they score goals. Maybe it's the proven partnership between Heskey and Rooney which Capello is relying on..

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

I still have not decided who to support... either Spain or Brazil. I'd been a long time England supporter... now I absolutely hate them.
