Enough said! I love my united! I think losing to Barcelona really did us
A world of good! We are trying to better them this season.

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

Great game, was initially shocked that evans was subbed in, thought fergie wanted to threw the game away, and surprisingly evans performance was superb

i think take carrick away for cleverly is good, because carrick is more of a defensive mid, but clevery is an attacking mid. And phil jones stood in as DM!

67 years old, and he can still show his brilliance with such tactics!

Nani also had great composure.. was abit disappointed by rooney though, thought he could have shown more of what he is capable of!

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

I'm just happy that we sold Clichy to Man City. Man U 3rd and winning goal was mostly his fault.

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

Subs were very much justifiable. I guess they were tired, any longer and city will open the floodgates. They just played 48hrs earlier!!!
Keeper should be good, new keepers always take time to adjust not just to the game but also coord with the back 4.
Glad they won... don't think they can take the title this season though. They fought hard last year, this year with a new team, need time to blend also.

Robin van Persie: Arsenal's star performer
• Arsene hopeful of signing
• Arsenal 1-2 Benfica (UK)

Van Persie sustained a painful-looking injury during Saturday night's 2-1 friendly match loss against Benfica, and received lengthy treatment following the knock. He did not enter the fray for the second half.

Wenger has revealed left-back Gibbs and centre-back Vermaelen have also picked up issues ahead of the club's Premier League opener against Newcastle next weekend. The Gunners then face Udinese in the Champions League before tackling Liverpool.

First asked about Van Persie, Wenger said: "It is an ankle problem, I don't know how bad it is. Gibbs has a muscular [thigh] problem and Vermaelen has a slight back problem."

Gunners midfielder Jack Wilshere has been selected in Fabio Capello's England squad for Wednesday's friendly with the Netherlands, despite the youngster suffering an ankle injury at the Emirates Cup.

Wenger said: "They can include him as much as they want, he will not play [because of injury]."
