Re: Time to change suspension for E60

ops, forgot to tell you that i already confirmed it with THE GREAT WHITE .....
IMPRESSED after getting a test ride in his car....... WOW !!!!!

now, i'm running on Decibel dB on stock 17in rim and it is fun sliding and drifitng around once a while cos the comfort tire's grip is easily broken
this is gonna stop once i change to the coilover and upgrade to 19in

Re: Time to change suspension for E60

can't decide on;

- forgestar
- advan rs
- breyton race GTS
- progressive ME

what other design you have in mind for E60?

It will be a laughing stock if i use the original 17in after installing the coilover right?
Anyone use stock rim after changing to coilover with slight or without lowering?

Re: Time to change suspension for E60

Just installed the KW Street Comfort today... one word to describe it -> AWESOME!

What's wrong with that? The overall general diameter of the wheel didn't change regardless it is 17" or 19". Only the perception of the chrome/aluminum rim circumference has been enlarged.

It's more a laughing matter if you have a 19" on stock suspension with that big gap!

dleo,

how's your ride comfort?
is it very stiff and to the extend of bouncy initially?
just installed SC last thurs and was running around in it feeling very uncomfortable.
BUT, after few days and a hundred km on the road, it sort of settle down.

does your ride behave like this?

however, one remarkable fnding was that it enabled me to take corners much harder (and much faster than stock)
well worth it !!!

i beg to differ, i saw many cars with stock suspension and big rims which looks nice
mine, lowered slightly with the coilover but with stock wheels is really ugly
however, i'm still searching for my rim now

Re: Time to change suspension for E60

Dig up.
Besides noise any other indication suspension needs replacement?
I'm on 19. Travelling fast over uneven ground sometime have my tyre rub my car. There is sound but dunno where.
over humps also the front defector at the front of the front wheel arch also rub floor.
was told the shocks are weak. The spring no more power to hold car up so the rubbing and all.
true?

Re: Time to change suspension for E60

It will depend on the type of suspension your car is on. Shock spring combo or coilover.

Judging from the information provided, your shock could be gone. Hence, unable to damping the vertical movement.

Re: Time to change suspension for E60

Thanks bro. I'm running on stock. U mean goes up then drops down fast and furious as damping is poor?
