You mean some conti cars ..... ?

LoL Probably the assumption most conti comes from comparing with jap cars.

However, jap cars normally have a oil change at 5000km, max 8000km for performance car.. Therefore even there is any oil leak or disappearing oil, it doesn't have the function of a oil top up msg. Only can check via oil dip stick.

Nice blog you have, wanna ask after you recalibrate the AFS, does the error comes back?

correction to your post. jap cars usually have an oil change at 10k, not 5k

Which japanese car is that?

Re: Top up engine oil

Probably for me only, change every 5k km. others have the option to change at 10k or even more....

Toyota and Lexus

Speaking of Lexus(is250), seems to be quite problem free or relatively easy to maintain. But dunno for the new model.

Re: Top up engine oil

Never heard that Lexus is a ride to be driven hard or enjoyed for spirited driving ....... Of course maintenance easier ......

For an European car, BMW is relatively problem free and reasonable to maintain. Rather buy a BMW than Lexus any day...
