Exceeding 51 - 60km/h = >$200 + 18 demerit points + Court.

I got caught for the above mentioned offence. My fine was $900, 18 demerit points and got a front row seat in court.

just a question.. my mum was stopped just now by TP for doing about 145km/h on the ECP. They did not issue her any tickets, so does that mean that the police is letting her off with a warning or are they just going to write a proper report then mail the summon?

Other than paying the fine and demerit points, what would happen at court? Thanks all in advance..

if no ticket... keep quiet and hope that you don't get anything in the mail can already...

As for the drink driving, be extra careful as they are probably going to jail first time offenders now since the recent spate of drink driving accident cases...

Drink driving seems to be the in thing now. Gotta be careful man..Fort road a NO-NO. Always booze bus there. And these police officers got no manners. Stick their head in and speak to you. Knn, last officer i saw had a chilli flake stuck in btw his teeth. PUI.

ya.. but the good thing my mum don't drink.. now worried about what will happen in court only.. Fine doesnt matter also.. its just not right to be venting your anger out on the throttle..sigh.. good thing is the female officer seem sympathatic towards my mum 'cause my mum told her that her reason for speeding was because she just quarrelled with my dad, which is true..

Or could they just be writing a description of what happened and then sending it in the mail? sigh..

normally if you get a court date, what happens there?

No offense but i think that another idea i could use if i sped. My girlfriend fought with me or she 2 timed me. You think they will buy it?
Court case from what i know, you have to attend at the designated date. Small eharing only so no need to be scared. They will review your past driving history and might just give a small penalty if there is legitimate reasons and good driving history. I do not see how it will translate into something big or depressing.

lol.. but the way my mum spoke to them was like she knew she was at fault and just gave them her driver's license.. there were 3 of them in the car.. but at the very least the officer should have told her that they were booking her for so and so, right?

Bro, i was in the police force before. Everything is abt quotas and promotion and rank. It all interlinks within one another and common sense and logic is unheard of. Sometimes by constantly asking the officer nicely how you were speeding and say can i see your radar gun invokes certain amount of fright in them. but do it nicely and they may let you off. Its just loopholes in the system and make oppurtunities out of failures given the odds are in your favour.

Sometimes by constantly asking the officer nicely how you were speeding and say can i see your radar gun invokes certain amount of fright in them. but do it nicely and they may let you off. Its just loopholes in the system and make oppurtunities out of failures given the odds are in your favour.
