Tuning for E90 320i

Re: Tuning for E90 320i

yes. but no gain in term of performance.
breathe and sound better ... that's all

with stock filter, you can feel and hear intake out of breath at 4.5k-6.5k rpm
with drop in filter, you can feel and hear the intake smoothly go from 4.5k to 6.5k rpm redline

Does it helps to breath better compare to stock?

Thanks.

Re: Tuning for E90 320i

Been there, done that. Don't waste your money tuning. Get lighter rims, better tyres. Enjoy the ride. Save your $. The N46 engine needs a lot of care once past 100K km.

Re: Tuning for E90 320i

detach8 - yeah i do know about the temper of my N46 engine. will sayang her many many!

2882 - you can get k&n filter almost anywhere bro!

Re: Tuning for E90 320i

Ok thanks bro. I thought it was a specialized item. Main thing i have against this car is the noise of the engine once past 5000rpm. If changing the filter solves that i'll be really glad.

Somehow i also find that this car has a lack of low end torque, anywhere below 4000rpm feels sluggish actually

Re: Tuning for E90 320i

e90 320i, n46b20
150 bhp @ 6200 rpm
200Nm @ 3600 rpm

anything below 3600 rpm is sluggish !

Re: Tuning for E90 320i

Bro wt_know, i read the specs.
Including for 335 and 530.
But i also read my bills and decided for a humble 320 :)
Though on hindsight, should have just gone 335

Re: Tuning for E90 320i

the question is the torque rpm range. of course max torque is awesome.
N55 400Nm @ 1200-5000rpm

the current f30 320i
N20 270Nm @ 1250-4500rpm
you won't feel sluggish ... tap only the car move

city drive 1200-3000 rpm is most critical ... tap only the car move
