Ultimate screwed up machine!!

Re: Ultimate screwed up machine!!

true that the fuse cost less than $1 (can get for 30 cts to 50cts at sim lim tower). but if you take into account your own time needed to troubleshoot yourself and petrol cost and parking to buy the fuse, it may cost more. parking at sim lim tower public carpark already cost 50cts.
if you really concerned about the "expensive" fuse, can buy off ebay like what i did. an array of 50 fuses with different ratings cost about $4.

Also, out of curiosity, which particular fuse was replaced? cos fuses dun normally blow unless there is a short circuit. and the most common ones that blow is the one for ciggie lighter and most of the time is cos owner themselves plug in something which caused a short and thus blow the fuse.

How atrocious and radiculous can it be. Being charged $1 + for a blown fuse when the ride is less than a year old. So newbies or for those who are not aware, once car leave the showroom, not all stuffs are covered under warranty. Even for my case, assuming I collected the car today, tomorow fuse blown, i will be charged $1+ for it, that was what the explanation. Hmm, very interesting, one cup of kopi.

Happy driving folks!!

What is covered under the warranty?

Re: Ultimate screwed up machine!!

Many of the newbies din know PML charged $50 to register the warranty of a battery...
as in if you changed car battery at the roadside by BMW Emergency Mobile Services, you need to go back PML workshop to register the warranty. $50 admin fee.

Surely, the terms and conditions of the warranty was spelt out in the sales agreement you signed?

but eh, my question would be why did your fuse blow? u modded anything that would potentially overload the electrical system?

warranty wise, i am in no position to answer u that.
why don't you go ask your SA to give u an answer on that.
at least u get more clarity and more mentally prepared in the future.

Yo bro, my car si mi lan chiao also stock. Heard about mod then warranty void so no balls to mod.

I din try this cos two years back, when I telephoned PML to enquire about battery, they told me BMW cars MUST use back BMW battery otherwise computer will be damaged. Was quoted $680 for a battery.

Re: Ultimate screwed up machine!!

oh.... I must add that PML quoted me $80 to change key fob battery. Told me they need to do computer analysis on the key fob before changing battery.

PML bery organised. Got standard.
