What is covered under the warranty?

As long as your car don't leave the workshop floor, it is covered by warranty. Dunno about PL insurance though.

I din try this cos two years back, when I telephoned PML to enquire about battery, they told me BMW cars MUST use back BMW battery otherwise computer will be damaged. Was quoted $680 for a battery.

computer shouldn't be damaged. but battery needs to be registered cos the car computer will adjust the charging accordingly to the battery's conditions. since a new battery is changed, the car needs to know this and thus change the way the battery is charged else the new battery life span may be reduced. this is what i had inferred from various sources.

also, PML warrany covers the battery as well for 3 years. i had mine changed a new months ago under warranty.

Re: Ultimate screwed up machine!!

Logically, wear and tear items should not fall under warranty. Examples:

- tyres
- brake pads
- bulbs

But say you drive a few months out of showroom post delivery....

- tyres keep leaking
- brakes squealing
- bulb blown (say repetitively)

Is it reasonable to review the warranty terms?

The truth hurts!

its a Leng Mong!

Re: Ultimate screwed up machine!!

actually i do think that fuses should NOT be covered under warranty. exactly which fuse was it?

for example, you may have dropped a coin in your ciggy holder shorting it out or plug a cheap vacuum cleaner and shorted it out, or use some aftmkt bulbs and shorted it out.

$1... live and let live. you are lucky you don't have simi gearbox or major problem.

May be Hendra can enlighten us.....

Dear bmwf20,

We must ascertained the bill received, are you able to share with me a copy? To be frank, $48.52, is quite unrealistic labour charge just to change a fuse. But to accurately comment on that, we need to establish the work done as per the details in the bill and input from the CSA attending to the case. Please let me know how much further can I enlighten the query.

Dear Hendra,

Thanks for taking the time to read and reply. First and foremost, my sincere thanks to MA, especially Henrica and yourself, you guys have been great and doing a great job from the very first time I came over, I am fully satisfied with the service rendered. Please understand my frust, it was never my intention at all to target anyone but the machine instead, if you would have notice the subject. Perhaps due to my ignorant, I expect the fuse to be under warranty as the ride is just approaching one year old. After gathering some reply from members here, I fully accept that fuse is under normal wear and tear. Then again, I am not too sure or I am rather confuse where the line is drawn ie what are the stuffs under normal wear and tear, what are not. Ofcoz I don't expect stuff like tyres and wiper blade to be covered under warranty. So you see, it is very vague here as far as we consumer is concern. Thank you!!

Re: Ultimate screwed up machine!!

PML is a site sponsor and I dun ever see anyone come in to post anything..whether feedback or make friends...

MA however has Hendra who is like the frontline soldier...everything also throw at him

How atrocious and radiculous can it be. Being charged $1 + for a blown fuse when the ride is less than a year old. So newbies or for those who are not aware, once car leave the showroom, not all stuffs are covered under warranty. Even for my case, assuming I collected the car today, tomorow fuse blown, i will be charged $1+ for it, that was what the explanation. Hmm, very interesting, one cup of kopi. :biggun::biggun::biggun:

Happy driving folks!!
OMG and for goodness sake, KPKB over S$1 for a fuse..............

I seriously suggest u go by BMW for your daily transport i.e. Bus Mrt Walk, freaking don't even bother to drive a QQ or ride a motorcycle or ride a bicycle or use skate.

Expectations. Some restaurants charged 50 cents for iced tap water and what not. if the experience is unpleasant, call it a lesson learnt. It's always personal to you and no one else.
