I believe the insulator is more to reduce noise(absorbs engine noise), rather than insulate heat from the engine.E90Lover said:Hi,
i 'm newbie and now learning about car. i would like to know what is the purpose to put insulators under the bonnet??
Thanks
apache said:the insulator is definitely for sound. under www.realoem.com, it is listed under
VEHICLE TRIM => INSULATION => SOUND INSULATING FRONT
part no:
51487059260
51481915964
you need to look for 325 or 330.
Drivemax, does your car still sound like taxi? Mine is equally loud. not sure if the insulator helps.

Motofish said:Hi apache,
Drivemax stated PML charge S$ 85.5 in an earlier port. Quote below. Are we talking about different things?
"Ok guys, got mine done at PML Alexander today at $85.50 incl the clips.
Simple job, you can do it by yourself."
