why in 1st class Singapore is the authorities doing little about this?
a simple clear cut law that states that anyone found tampering with the odometer with the intend to cheat people
should warrant say a fine of say 10, 50, 100k n and/or jail of a week/month etc.
ok, hard to enforce. that's fine.Red_Bean_Bun;597571 said:Difficult to enforce........if the onus is on the dealer to do the due diligence -
1. If the dealer got caught by the new owner - they could say that they received the vehicle as it is.
2. If the new owner mod the odometer then they could say that they received the vehicle as it is
3. If the previous owner mod the odometer look at point 1.
Multiply this effect on a couple of thousand cars .......... to enforce this would force everyone to pay more taxes to pay for systems and resources to attempt to address this.

let's do one step at a time.
ie: lay down what's the punishment for these sort of offence.
