doubt the IR venues are places that their car scratcher will come. these individuals dont stay in expensive hotels.

look at the scratches, it is done to inflict maximum respray cost to the car owners. the owner of this photo should send this picture to STOMP and ST to deter more people from going to genting.
Wouldn't that be unfair to Genting if the culprit was a foreigner (non-malaysian) who just happened to be in a bad mood?

Actually, taking a bus up there may be more expensive..............I do not trust these reckless bus drivers for my life. I rather take plane there. At least, the pilots are professional and will not take ur lives for risk. Otherwise, I rather my life in my own hands on the wheel.
Too many horror trips I took, and I m glad I am still alive.

Well Herk, sad to hear you encountered reckless bus drivers. Can understand that phobia, my aunt took a bus once and the bus driver actually fell asleep at the wheel! Crazy shit!

The Bus companies I usually take have so far been OK for almost the last 10 years (Touch Wood). No incidents and the drivers are pretty seasoned regulars - Have always seen the same drivers for like the last 10 years. So, I reckon its a heng-sway kinda thing. :)

Bro, don't think CCTVs will help much either. There's quite a fair bit of Polisi presence there also, but don't think it helps much. For all you know, if they install CCTVs, thieves will end up stealing them and selling them off!

Bro, It was at Resort's hotel car park. Ya CCTV all over in the casino but not the car park, During check out time, spend 2 hrs with the group of polis buatan & duty manager taking pictures & statement, in the end what can they do ? Just wait for the GM to reply.

Re: What they did to SG cars at Genting Highlands!!!

I have owned 13 cars over the years and 3 of them have been keyed in Singapore. Pretty lousy stats, I know, but that's one of the reasons I don't buy new cars anymore.

Once was in one of the very best hotels in Singapore. The guy was caught on tape and it was a long-drawn out police case but in the end the guy got off because the police said the tape was non-conclusive etc. etc. etc.

Moral of the story is: just because you're in the carpark of a nice hotel and there's CCTV doesn't mean you're safe.

By the way, last I checked, vandalism in Singapore is a non-seizable offence, so they can book the guy but they can't really arrest him.

Re: What they did to SG cars at Genting Highlands!!!

vandalism is not vandalism in singapore unless you damage public/govt property....

tio boh?

Possible. It may have been classified as "mischief" or something like that. Sorry but can't remember -- it was four years ago.

Next time they tell you it's a non seizable offence for vandalism, remind them about the Michael Fay story..

Re: What they did to SG cars at Genting Highlands!!!

vandalism is a seizable offence, vandalism only applies on government property...private property is classified under mischief, a non seizable offence, u can only sue the asshole and claim against him.

if u wan him to be arrested, add another damagibg statement, i saw him trying to pry open my door then he wil be in trouble...

Re: What they did to SG cars at Genting Highlands!!!

How about Cameron Highlands, is that generally a safe place to drive up to from Singapore?

Re: What they did to SG cars at Genting Highlands!!!

lets just say...once you cross the causeway...there is bound to be some people whom have anti-singaporean sentiments...either through their own experiences or wrong perceptions through their media...

i would say Cameron Highlands is just as safe or just as dangerous as Genting or any other places...you just have to be on your normal guard...

some people like to travel in convoys...but just yesterday I met a convoy of Toyota Corollas and Skodas opposite Sunway Lagoon Theme Park...boy was I pissed with them even as a Singaporean...they were pratically road hogging...

Re: What they did to SG cars at Genting Highlands!!!

Sad to hear this but this happen anywhere just some animals can't see people have a better ride but remember not all are animals, I ever guided a Singapore car for a place they wanted to visit not by pointing fingers but by driving them to the location they intended to go about 15km away and paid his toll even... and I don't think many will help this way but we have to think when we are stranded at peoples place and we are treated this way, am sure you are happy thats why I help. Thats only my thinking.
