Which is more value for money?

Was browsing through sgcarmart and looking at various 528i and 535i units, and comparing the car values and depreciation.
Found one 535i unit (most likely from PI) that's going for around the same pricing and depreciation level as a PML 528i.

528i ________________535i
Price ___$243,800__________ $242,800
Tax _______$1,210_____________ $2,362
Reg Date __5/12/2011 _______ 15/11/2011
Mileage__ 8000 ______________ 10500
COE _____$77,340 _____________$77,000
OMV_______$52,543 ________ $55,128
Years left ____9.4 _____________9.3
Depreciation_$22,861.85________ $22,847.27
From ______PML __________Unsure (probably PI)

If your budget is around $250k, will you go for the 528i or 535i unit? or maybe go PML to trawl for good overtrades for a brand new 528i instead (which I think is listed for around $270k+)?

Re: Which is more value for money?

1) For me, my option is very clear betwen those 2 rides... 535i of course :)

2) If e 535i was originally registered from PML. even if it is sold by a car dealer... my choice still the 535i of course :)

Best is to make enquires by phone and go on site and take a look, then decide.

Re: Which is more value for money?

Just pop open the bonnet! The answer will reveal itself! Thrust me, I did that!

Re: Which is more value for money?

528 or 520 open bonnet, potong steam - it's like undressing a (over 18 ) girl, unclasping her bra, only to realize she had Triumph maximizer + Kleenex tissues + 2 water balloons shoved in there to boost her cup size.

535, pop open bonnet, die ¢0£k-stand. Those cylinders, all SIX throbbing, pulsing, ramrods, shoving 306 frenzied ponies and laying those angry hooves on the bitumen track. What is there not to love!?

I am about to sell my 528 with the 3L NA engine.
If you prefer a non-turbo, pls PM me.

:lol2: but seriously... the 528i drives ok...

Re: Which is more value for money?

The 535 is a PI car. You can tell from the speedometer, and the smaller screen.
Anyway, 535 is way to go. Smooth, creamy turbo 6!

Re: Which is more value for money?

My vote goes to the 535i!

Coz I have one too!

Re: Which is more value for money?

535 is the way to go but do your maths ... the 535 is not cheap by simply comparing depreciation with 528 (4pot?)

I am not so adept in the differences between car engine types and their performances, paiseh to say that I have never driven a turbo-powered car before, nor have I driven a 4-cyc beemer
my current ride is the E90 323i and its 6 cylinders, so probably I will stay with 6-pot models. Will send you a pm to get more details.

Cheers

definitely there are other considerations like road tax, insurance, maintenance costs, etc. but what surprised me was the pricing and depreciation for that particular 535i is identical to the average figures for 528i. A typical 535i as found in the sgcarmart will have around $25k/yr depreciation

Re: Which is more value for money?

Go for 535i.... U won't be wrong...
