Re: Which would you rather buy?

Am inching towards the GT3 now. Planning to get my brother to import one from UK for me if it all works out well. Should be around 200k cheaper than Eurokars. I have not driven the GT3, so I am taking a risk cos I din like the 991 C2S the last time I drove it. From all the video reviews I have seen of the GT3, it seems to sound a whole lot better than the C2S crap sound. The improved steering and rear wheel steer also helped changed my mind :) Fingers crossed the UK dealer can help get me a good price...

Re: Which would you rather buy?

I might be out of point but wish to add, if I have a family with 2 kids or more, I would keep the M5 as a nice powerful luxurious family car and maybe get an exotic as a 2nd car be it used or brand new depending on budget.

An exotic is not something you can drive and park everywhere. Needs some advance planning on the destination and parking conditions. Having an M5 and an exotic in one's stable is a perfect scenario but if there is budget and space for more, that would be really nice as well. Hope you get your dream car soon. If you are considering the GT3, it is much less of a headache to drive and park anywhere. It is what I call a practical almost supercar. Very nice and raw.

That's exactly what I am doing. I will be keeping the M5 for family needs and a 2nd car for fun. The 2nd car must be small and sharp! :) I optioned the front axle lift and from what I have heard, the new GT3 is a lot more usable as a daily car compared to past iterations.

Yeah, I read those too. I have mostly dropped the idea of buying the M5 again due to marginal improvement in the comp package. M3/4 is of no interest to me. That car has grown way too big to fit my needs now. If someone is looking for an all rounder that performs, handles, and ferry passengers, the next M3 is unbeatable. For my 2nd car needs, it's less suited. I am however, keen on the M2 when it comes out 2 years from now.

i8? I uncle, i go for old school internal combustion engine, preferrably high revving NA for my sports car needs. 991 GT3 is my choice, but that damn car is sold out globally and no allocation until 3rd quarter next year. The wait might not be such a bad thing. Always prudent to give a new model a year or so of shake down.

Re: Which would you rather buy?

R8 great car.. But somehow cant command a position when it comes to ppl choosing supercars? Q sad.. Branding i think...

no i8 what about R8?

I have never quite liked R8. I guess it's becos the V8 R8 had its ass handed to it by the E9x M3 in the straights. I find that shocking for a supposedly supercar from Audi, which has a larger engine and big promise. It's the same as the initial Lambo V10 loosing out to the E60 M5 despite having a larger engine and same high revving V10 formula. I know in other aspects, they probably are ahead, but sometimes it takes very little to sway a buyer's preference. R8 also has shit gearboxes until the recent releases that use their dual clutch S-tronic instead of that clunky r-tronic. R8 is prob the only good Audi as far as I am concerned cos it has Lambo pedigree, but just not my cup of tea. For that money, i rather buy the GT3.

BMW M3 smokes Audi R8!! :)

Watch the 2nd run where the M3 didn't mess up the start. It's a manual M3. Imagine it going against a DCT? Anyway, there are many more similar videos on youtube.

Personally, I am waiting on the 991 GT3 PDK.

Getting from Eurokar or PI?

Prob PI given the "crazy" price ADs quote now.

So I'm not alone in thinking Porkies are overpriced by the AD here! Was toying around with the idea of a C4S recently, but got seriously put off by AD quote.... where are you going for PI, if you don't mind me asking?
