Good point!

Re: why there is a lot of boxter/caymen on the 2nd hand market

I actually think that the Boxster looks pretty nice... classic looks. Unlike the 911 Cab's hunchback aft of the cabin, very apparent when the top's down. Eeks.

Re: why there is a lot of boxter/caymen on the 2nd hand market

the only nice lokoing porky is a GT. the rest of it is just functional. very very functional. i will own a porky as my last fast car.

That is a good pick up but for such cars, I would still rather buy a new one and break it in myself.

Anyway heard that LTA rejected those under OMV 80k to be registered nowadays. The earlier ones may get away with that.

Re: why there is a lot of boxter/caymen on the 2nd hand market

Yeah with the JPY being strong, I don't think any OMV below 80K is realistic.
Specs wise the difference between Basic and Premium is not that great seriously.

Huh? Don't the GT cars (i assume you mean the GT3 and not the CGT) look pretty much just like the standard carreras but lowered with front/rear spoilers?

Personally while i admire the performance of the GT cars, i prefer the clean, refined, understated looks of the base models, uncluttered by spoilers, racing strips, and ang kongs :nehnehhh:

Not sure if other people agree.

Re: why there is a lot of boxter/caymen on the 2nd hand market

although omv is important but nobody really cares if it is 10-20k difference as it will only matter when u export the car or 10 years is up, of course i had heard of 98k omv for GTR and owner paid about 315k for the premium model, to sell will really be difficult

but definitely agree with u on the brand new part, nothing beats the smell of brand new leather and running in the engine yourself

Re: why there is a lot of boxter/caymen on the 2nd hand market

wah... 6mth old GTR 205k?!!!

hmmmm....

:yikess:

Re: why there is a lot of boxter/caymen on the 2nd hand market

heard the base models for the next Boxster/Caymen is going to be 2.9 instead of 2.7

the S will be probably bump up to 3.6? should be all PDK...

wah lanz.... also very tempting... very easy to maintain... fuss free...more powerful n faster in the future... n even more fun to drive... !!!

Re: why there is a lot of boxter/caymen on the 2nd hand market

think toto referring to the Carrera GT, not the 911 derivatives

We always hear fire sale like that, but when you seriously want to buy it, it is always gone. :lol2:

Re: why there is a lot of boxter/caymen on the 2nd hand market

ha ha, if it is price to sell, sure go fast wat bro

if ask for 235k, then we will see it around for a while

Re: why there is a lot of boxter/caymen on the 2nd hand market

in fact there is one now in sgcarmart, 4 months old with the special option silver colour only asking for 225k, sure can bargain to lower!!! time are bad......................

Re: why there is a lot of boxter/caymen on the 2nd hand market

So whats a fair price for a 1yr+ auto Cayman with techart rims and dunno what aftermkt pipes... a friend casually mention he wanna sell at abt 190k and he's checking my interest. Reasonable?

Re: why there is a lot of boxter/caymen on the 2nd hand market

I think prices would continue to fall esp if the current situation continues. (which is very likely). Next year should see some pretty interesting buys in the market, not only for GTRs but for the other models as well.

Think the one asking for 225k now is a base edition with low OMV no?

Quite keen to pick one up if the price is right.

Re: why there is a lot of boxter/caymen on the 2nd hand market

it is on the sgcarmart, there is quite a few there, i think omv is 75plus, u can go to have a look

also interested to buy one also but still waiting for one that is willing to go below 200k, dont care about spec as i intend to spec it up myself with lightweight seats and upgrade to about 650hp and bodykit

there is one brand new one, omv 80k asking for 249k, also on sgcarmart

Re: why there is a lot of boxter/caymen on the 2nd hand market

if the cayman is from stuggart, i think price is quite good

Re: why there is a lot of boxter/caymen on the 2nd hand market

Spyder,

I have the same thoughts exactly! I am also waiting for the prices to drift below the 200k mark. I believe it should happen next year. Not keen on buying new cars.

Since you intend to turn it into a project car somewhat, base edition makes sense for you. I'm prefer the black ed. though.

ps: nice lambo btw

Re: why there is a lot of boxter/caymen on the 2nd hand market

sat in a good friend's GTR yesterday, done by Garage R, full works with high spoiler and the 650hp upgrade, damm super fast mate, bang for buck hp

But looks a bit too common nowadays so definitely will go a full kit with a loud colour, hence no point high spec as I end up throwing away most of the stock stuff!!!
