did your gear shift smoother??? did the pickup get better?? how much did u pay for it?? heard now there is a G4 model. me thinking of trying...jaskin said:I got I got, At first I think mentally there was alot of difference. But I'm used to the effects of the mod. Nothing much really, FC did improve marginally. Got it at the old rate when they were doing the mass installs.
found out there is a lastest version 4 esp for continental car. beside z-stab, did u install other voltage stabilizer as well?jaskin said:I can't remember but Might have been <100 I think another forum member was also an early adopter of the technology.
I drive a SMG so neither the pickup nor shifts got any smoother.
Given the current price I'm not so sure it's worth it. Though most users agree that their audio sounds better after the upgrade.

oh... then is your car on any type of voltage stabilizer now??eg. Pivot etc??? grounding??DC3 said:snowman said:so any more bro here try the z-stab??
Have tried Z-stab Euro version for Conti car at pre-launch price <$100. Initially thot gear changes smoother but that is subjective. Performance wise not much difference.
After about 2 weeks, my battery went dead. Voltage regulator got fried. It may not have been the Z-stab, since I already was having intermittent warning lights on one of my light clusters before putting in the z-stab, but so far, haven't tried putting it back in.
Having said that, I got another piece for my wife's Corolla, and it really seems to help with the gear change and performance.
You can check out their website at www.z-stab.com.
I am in no way related or connected in any way to z-stab, just suffering from mod-virus attacks.

cool, so which version did u get and how much did u paid for it??opvaulet said:Installed z-stab. More willing low speed pull, smoother and quieter engine and gear changes, but most impressive for me was idle stability, which was not a strong point on the M50 engines in my 520i e34. now idles like a modern car, not one made in the 80's. will update in a few days time when the ecu 'adapts'. But the gains are real, i tested with and then without unit on same roads back to back to verify before i bought it. Of course i cannot compare back to back with other add ons. BTw I previously had the car re-grounded.
cool, nice mod!opvaulet said:Euro version i think, $168. went makan tonight. car drove really smooth. But will need more time to tell though it reinforces my initial opinions. particulaly the idle and LET (easier to tell becuase car had more people in it) . I think the price is attractive, but i was really more attracted to the theory behind it. there are some fuel consumption claims too, but that will take a while to varify.
do post and update us abt the resultopvaulet said:I might have the same problem. Car only just warms up as i arrive at the office! Did you feel any improvement in the pickup? i can feel it in mine, but probably as a function of more responsiveness, more linear. You know, the M50 2.0 is a bit flat in the low-mid rpms. But idle's great now. tonight i had lights on and its still good. will need more time to confirm but engine sounds different. Because the ecu is adaptive and 'learns', I will need more time i think to feel the overall effect.
