For my E60 case, the EO case was 1 litre every 2 months, then 1 month, then 2 weeks. Obvious sign is White smoke at exhaust at start of day when ramming on Neutral.
Changed engine gasket, change top housing etc all didnt solve.
In the end, culprit was worn valve seals.

This is most unfortunate for you at the moment.
The gearbox is controlled by the mechatronics unit so not very sure the mechanic changed the right component for you. My E60 mecha unit cost about under S$4k to replace the other time. I only changed this and not the gearbox and it worked fine...
Have u checked/changed the Mechatronics? (by right should change every 5-7 years to maintain smoothness of gear change)

1. After changing ATF, could be still have trapped air/bubbles inside the closed system. ATF change not done thoroughly enough?

When no pressure loss is detected, then its most likely a very small leak and the coolant is lost only during engine running, or it could be the coolant tank cap
Next time you drive for some time and park, do not turn off your engine yet. Open the hood and with a good light source, look around...
