Can some1 collect me, all the 5 series 523, 528 n 535 is a 3lit car ?

523 is line 6 NA, 528 is 3.0L NA, 535 is 3L inline 6 turbo FI

folks, just heard from reliable souce, new 5 series to be launched in SG in May 2010
Only 2 versions available (rest might be on indent maybe?) - Officially 523 will be priced around sgd188k and 535 at sgd268k!!!!!

I think early booking open now (quitely) for May 2010 delivery!!

The official standard list of equipment for 535 is below fyi ...(523 is less specs but highline version will be available on request)

535 version standard equipment includes : -
- comfort access
- interior ambience light
- naviation system professional
- electric sunroof
- hi-fi professional logic 7
- heads up display
- PDC park assist
- mobile phone with bluetooth interface
- usb audio interface
- sports auto transmission 8 speed

more fuel efficient and smoother at high speeds. for our city driving, 1st 4 to 5 gears gao liao

too many gear not good for our city driving

remember an ang moh test driver commenting about the IS-F 8 speed saying it keep changing from 5-6-7-8-7-6-7-8 , too frequent gear change because of the overlapping speed range for each gear

if the 8th gear too high then at 100km/h we will be shifting 7-8-7-8 on the highway depending on our throttle position and the road incline etc

if the 8th gear too high then at 100km/h we will be shifting 7-8-7-8 on the highway depending on our throttle position and the road incline etc

Economy is also helped by a new eight-speed auto 'box with full paddleshift over-ride. It's smooth and decisive and doesn't feel like it has too many ratios, unlike the multi-speed Lexus and Benz autos, which are always dithering about which gear to use.

I also seem to remember reading somewhere that the 8th gear is an overdrive that the car shifts up to only when the speed is above 120 or 130 km/h. So for city driving, it's effectively a 7-speeder.

yeah. if the gear ratios r done correctly, the 7th and 8th gear will only kick in at higher speeds, hence normal zero-100km/h shld only touch 6th gear max.

wrong, should be 6 speeder cos it always starts from 2nd gear unless in sports mode

Mine 6 speed auto - 1st gear - 6th gear since I hardly go above 100 = using 4 only.

Worse than my dad's 1992 Nissan with 5 speed manual gearbox. Damn.

Just paid my deposit over the weekend. Still the same pricing as announced, but not sure if the prices would be revised after this week's COE bidding exercise.

PI prices for the 523 is only about $10k difference from PML, if you are going for PI car you should consider the 535, the savings is more than $30k.
