320i or 323i

Re: 320i or 323i

do any of the cars come with BSI or is that additional purchase?

Re: 320i or 323i

I drive a 320 and if i were to make a decision between that and a 323 now, I'd choose the 323. Don't get me wrong, the 320's a nice drive but the I-6 just sounds so much sweeter.

Re: 320i or 323i

i will also go for 323i

always go for the higher model your budget can afford, else next time sure regret, :)

Just walked into PML today and the price for a 320i basic is down to 124,850 without any finance rebates. There's now a "Bmw subsidy" being offered in addition to the regular promo discount.

funcar62, are you sure you were quoted that price? I called my sales rep at PML about this today and she swears that there's no way the price could be 124,850 before the finance rebate. But I guess it's possible that one of the reps is offering the car at that price by reducing their commission.

Very interested because we're going for either a 320i or a C180K this weekend and at the moment they're neck and neck! We really love both cars so it will just come down to price...

Re: 320i or 323i

Passed by PML for kopi today and saw the 325i Touring. Sweet. If they had brought it in earlier, I would have broken my piggy bank and pawned my pants to get that... List is $188k--translates to $16xk???

Re: 320i or 323i

its possible; funcar's calculation's based on 132k (basic 320i w/o e folding mirrors, etc) less $5800 ($(1371-888)×12mths advertised promo if not taking 90% loan) and $1250 insurance rebate. the version with folding mirrors wld cost u 4k more.

Thanks gadgets, that clears it up. She's been quoting me 136k as the basic cost, so she's including the options (cruise control, mirrors, etc)...which explains why the lowest price I was quoted was 4k more than funcar's.

Cheers, much appreciated.

so majestic, what would your decision be?

Re: 320i or 323i

What do you guys think of IS250 as an alternative to E90 or the C180? I'm also considering this 3 cars at the moment.

Re: 320i or 323i

The IS250 is too cramped especially in the rear. Toyota-like controls though prob better tactilty. If you get the normal version, the reverse sensors are apparently after market. I did not elicit any response when I visited the showroom. Perhaps you'll have better luck :)

Of course, the engine is better than the base 320. Can look at the 323 or 325 as a comparison.

Re: 320i or 323i

PML bought a unit of IS250, for prospect like yourself in the same situation, for them to test and compare. PM me and i give your my SE contact.

Re: 320i or 323i

My opinion is to get the IS250 if you are going for 320i. If your budget allow you to buy the 323i, then forget the IS250.

Six months ago i spent 1 week testing and retesting the e90 in all its forms, as well as the C180/C200, A4 (190+ps), Saabs and Volvos. All great cars. I really could not make up my mind what to replace my bimmer with and narrowed down to 323i if i wanted a six pot or C180 if I gave up performance and wanted economy and comfort. Then the IS250 came along...

Six months later, i still own my bimmer, but also own a IS250. Maybe its because I already own a bimmer, but the Lexus is refreshingly different, and devastatingly capable when driven really hard. Its stealth-like refinement, build quality, equipment, solidity, and fuel efficiency won me over against the 325i, and makes it only second choice to a 330i. And its fairly brisk; friends' stock cars locally have G-teched at less than 8 secs to 100. I still love my bimmer, but the IS is a formidable alternative. And the ownership experience is terrific. Don't for a moment believe its perfect, but to me it comes closer than any other in this class. And the sales man was great too.

I grew up with aspirations to own bimmers. Now i realise objectively there are other choices too.

One more thing. Undisguised pics of new c-class looks really good.

Re: 320i or 323i

Anyone here knows the current price of 323i? Heard IS250 going for $126,000 last month.

it's $150k before any rebates, so if you work in the 5800+1250, you shd be looking at around $142950 or less. steep?

Well, we went with the 320i today (TiAg/Black). Very excited as it should be delivered on Dec 5 and it's my birthday on the 6th! We chose the 320 over the C180K because the E90 is so new, but the C-class is on its way out (plus minor advantages like the built-in iPod connection).

Our PML rep was very attentive and helpful - just PM me if you'd like her details.

And THANK YOU funcar and gadgets for helping me get an additional discount!

Re: 320i or 323i

I went to try out the C180, 320i, 323i and IS250. Clearly the 323i is a more engaging car to drive. That said, I'm not sure if I want to spend the extra $$$ given that 320i is sufficient for city dirving and handles well.

I felt a little indifferent between the C180 and 320i though I noted that the C180 accelerates slower but have slight more comfortable seats.

In case some of you guys are interested. These are the latest prices:

C180 - $135,888 (before early bird discount)
320i - $136,000 (before rebate)
323i - $150,000 (before rebate)
IS250 - $127,000

Re: 320i or 323i

Agreed but reading all the problems that new BMW 3 series owners faced shortly after .. makes me kind of worried and concerned. Seems like you have a 323. Mind sharing your experience with ur rider so far?

Also, went to a have look at the new Alfa 159. Going for $120K for the selespeed. Good looking car but didn't get to try 'cos they only have the selespeed version at Teban Garden.
