Another case of conflict between car and cyclist....

Re: Another case of conflict between car and cyclist....

All civilized people here unless provoked. Keep it this way.
I can;t stand them very much but LL cos it's not within my ability to drive them out.
Just draw the line so thick that they dun cross over at all times.

Re: Another case of conflict between car and cyclist....

Yes, because it will help be another source of revenue to help fill up the garhmen's coffers. +10000000000000000000000000000

Re: Another case of conflict between car and cyclist....

I thought since it involves Lui, might as well impose COEs on bicycles.

It will be too quick a burn job. They will use the "slow-cook" method.

Re: Another case of conflict between car and cyclist....

This is a crying baby lah. Got ball? Run over that cyclist lah. No pt coming to MCF or whatever car forum & cry.

That cyclist got ball bigger than his brain. If gonna turn right on that road, i will wait for traffic light to turn red. Move the the left most of the turning lane.

Bicycle used to have licence plate. It was done away more than 10 yrs ago.

Sg nvr have PCN. How is it backward looking?

Re: Another case of conflict between car and cyclist....

Next time if you all see a safe cyclist with a moustache but messy hair, give a friendly horn.

davidtch say one.

Re: Another case of conflict between car and cyclist....

It's funny how the guy who uploaded the video get flame by so many people for horning at the cyclist.

Re: Another case of conflict between car and cyclist....

Had similar experience. Coincidentally, very similar cyclist profile.
Garhmen should put a stop to this. Wanna cycle go to park.
SG roads not ready for cyclists yet.

But COE up so much, perhaps a good avenues in future....

folks, let's not get carried away with the race or nationality of the cyclist.

facts:-
- cyclist rides like he thinks he owns the road.
- cyclist also thinks that driver sounding horn is provocative gesture.

this type of behaviour is not restricted to race or nationality, nor is it representative of all cyclists.

Like it or not, races have certain traits. Chinese like to gamble for example. Jinooi if you were provoked, would you react that way?I doubt So.Likewise I know I won't. And I think most who posted here would not either. If it is a one off, i am seeing too many. After all we are still the majority no? It's a lot easier for Singaporeans to get caught behaving badly.

Re: Another case of conflict between car and cyclist....

Before we delve deeper in this direction... I just want to say that there are many Chinese who don't like to gamble. I for one have never even been in a casino though there is one within jogging distance. Much like in the case of that disrespectful letter to MM, we should leave race, language, religion, emotions, etc etc out, and see the facts of the matter as they happened. Many of us have encountered cyclists/motorists/motorcyclists of all races behave badly on the road. In this instance, it just happened to be a Caucasian guy ("thankfully not Augusto Farfus" says me....ek!).

I feel that the incident was caused more by a lack of understanding of local societal norms that led to a warped perception of what is the 'right' and 'wrong' way. The cyclist could easily had been an FT of any race, language, religion, etc etc. I just want to share my bad encounter a while back with the service staff of a restaurant. To summarize the whole incident, it was as if a Hindu/Muslim ordered chicken and got served beef/pork, and when they asked the FT waitress if there was a mistake, the waitress simply replied "can't you taste that it is beef/pork?". The point is, integration takes time, and our pace of immigration simply did not allow nature to take its course.

Re: Another case of conflict between car and cyclist....

Please do not make sweeping general statements about race, gender, or nationality... it only shows the amount of (limited) exposure of life experiences.

Thus I don't blame the whoever but the root which is above up there.

Disclaimer: Above Up There is not implying any religious God or Deity.

For those that ride on roads, yes such cyclists should be licensed on basic theory so each and everyone have the basic knowledge on road usage and safety. Each and every bicycle should be registered and display a proper registration number and enforced by law. Every road user must be traceable in the event of incidents/accidents both good and bad.

Positively yes i agree.

Suspiciously.... plus many opportunities for any future implementation of "getting crowded" plans

Re: Another case of conflict between car and cyclist....

The other issue is that even if he is not concerned about his down safety and cycles like it's his grandfather's road - he would drag a car driver down the rat hole in court when an accident happens.

He almost got hit in the video .... If that car hit him then for nothing kena. Then all the hullabaloo about cyclist being discriminated would surface and then it's all pity for that cyclist. The car driver would get crucified in court for nothing on top of a torturous 6 months wait to court date. With a injured FT cyclist - how Jialat would it be with the judge ?

The driver who filmed it probably can't remember this incident a few days later if there was no incident. Letting a dickhead do whatever he wants on the road with his bike for a few minutes from a far goes a long way to saving yourself heck of a lot of crap later. Take it as watching a documentary show about baboons on bicycles .......

Ok let me rephrase to something more general and palatable so that others find it easier to swallow.
Certain types of people have certain traits.
For example, making general statements about race, gender etc is a trait of one who lacks life experiences.
