Anti-roll bar for f10 535i

Re: Anti-roll bar for f10 535i

Ok today just installed M5 ARB..

Haven't tested the cornering yet at "higher" speeds but initial feel is... its feels like stock on straight roads, not hard at all.

Tested on various humps...ok, not hard at all, feels like normal.

Did a few cornerings at "lower" speeds of 50-60km/hr...dunno whether its psychological or not but I tend to think its feels more planted than stock.

This evening will try higher speed cornering and see whether good or not.

Anyway, its a cheap mod over stock ARB cos sibeh "thin"..

Borrowing from f10.5post..the pic of the M5 ARB is ...

View attachment 52393

26mm thick.... stock is about 20mm

Those on M-Sport suspension your ARB thickness is about 23mm..so its a 3mm increase.

I also ordered for two other F10 forummers...both 535i and on M-Sport suspension. They will install tomorrow and I hope they can feedback as well...

Just tested at the exit of TPE to Pasir Ris Dr 12. Long right turn at 80km/hr n amber light liao. Cornering feels damn shiok n planted. Previously if go at 60-70km/hr to excute that turn I would end up from 2nd lane to 3rd lane n body roll bad. Now same lane zero body roll. Sart.

but wife slapped me for speeding at amber. Not very sart

Re: Anti-roll bar for f10 535i

Just installed the M5 ARB this morning. The initial drive, feel not much difference from mine (m-sport), but can feel slightly more stiff. Didn't really cup corner, scare... No 4 wheel drive... But difinitely there is difference, it feels more planted n not so much roll like last time. when driving on expressway, over taking feel good... Very direct n immediate feel with little roll... The car just move out... N go... Feels responsive...

Will continue to monitor n feel the difference....

Are you on Stock M-Sport Suspension Set up When you experience Body Roll Previously before you install this M5 ARB or you did Change to other Coilovers .

I m with stock m-sport suspension.. Q a fair bit of roll previously.... Now much better. On slow speed you dun really feel the difference, but definitely less roll. On higher speed, you feel it more difference than previously with stock Arb.

Re: Anti-roll bar for f10 535i

To all the gurus here, does the edc suspension stiffness comes in 3 steps ?
What i mean is whether the suspension stiffen more when we switch from SPORTS to SPORTS + ?

Re: Anti-roll bar for f10 535i

It doesn't , only talk about sports and comfort mode

Re: Anti-roll bar for f10 535i

Ok, it teaches how to engage sports+ but does not tell us about the suspension stiffen up

Logically speaking Sports mode should stiffen the ride.......Sports Plus ( traction off )
( for my E89 )

Re: Anti-roll bar for f10 535i

as far as i know, sports+ vs sports mode is to give more control to driver to spin/drift the car

manually you can

a. press DSC button once = DTC ON = Sports+ mode (traction control only)
b. press and hold DSC button = DSC OFF completely (no stability control, no traction control)

SPORT+ activates DTC, which is a less restrictive traction control system. Pressing (not holding) the DSC OFF button will activate DTC no matter which driving mode you've otherwise selected; DTC is not on unless you are in SPORT+ or you have pressed the DSC OFF button. SPORT+ does not deactivate DSC; it remains active, as always, unless you hold the DSC OFF button for some number of seconds.

The warning icon is misleading because BMW uses it for both DTC ON and DSC OFF. BMW does this because where DTC ON makes for less stability (but more loose-surface traction) in corners and under acceleration, DSC OFF deactivates all driving dynamics assists, making for even less stability in corners and under acceleration.

yes.

sports mode = tighter steering, rpm hold higher before upshift and crispy throttle response

Steering wheel feedback change when in sports mode ?

I feel that the feedback is the same in sports mode. Just heavier. Still sucks.
