Anyone driven the new Porsche 991 C2S

Re: Porsche 991 C2S Driven

not comparing badge, brand, and price, comparing model classes and true drivability.

if u talk price of cos no brainer la

talking about market segment.

3 series is mass market.
911 c2s is mass market. thus the test drive dont invoke sporty feelings...its for the masses.

911 gt3, turbo, gt2 for enthusiast , so compare with bmw enthusiast offerings.

how could one compare C2S with 3 series and M3 with GT3? Porsche is in a different class. The folks in Stuttgart would puke blood if they were to see this ;)

I won't be test driving it unfortunately, but i have no doubt it would be more fun than the 911.

Hi clar,

Would did you not compare Maser GT or GTS against them?

I think I know what you are saying, and perhaps it's about the choice of words.

Essentially, I do not think 911 C2S is "mass market", not even in Porsche's terms. The 911 is Porsche's flagship model and can't be mass market. :)

The last time I went only saw "Lao chio", wrong timing....

Agree. Don't think C2S should be spoken of in the same breath as a 3 series. It's fair game against the M3 though. It does seem i do not belong to the 911 loving group since i don't seem to like their signature design elements. It just doesn't feel special enough when i am seated behind the wheel.

the center dash is a big fail, too crowded. Still love it nevertheless.

Love the cayman too. The big thing for me about the cayman is the mid engined layout, but kinda sad that it's assembled outside of germany

Have fun shopping!

Re: Porsche 991 C2S Driven

bro, u said flagship model, the word itself equates to mass market. does porsche wanna sell as many c2s as possible? hell yeah..

manual gt3 , hard suspension, etc is nt mass market. caters to enthusiasts. same goes with gt2, rs, etc.

if chris harris compares m3, he'll line it up with a gt3.. in terms of enthusiast driving.
if talking abt brand appeal n price, then its another thing, porsche wins.

gt3rs vs m3 gts vs granturismo stradale
911 turbo vs gtr
etc.. more fair comparisons.. all good..

Masers are big fat over weight GTs that are not very well engineered in my book. I have very little liking for those cars and i am not a fan of its looks.

oh i see ...

Re: Anyone driven the new Porsche 991 C2S

To me, Maseratis are just expensive poser cars with super high maintenance. Yeah the exhaust sounds damn good but a R8 with Tubi is not far off.

Re: Anyone driven the new Porsche 991 C2S

T6 the tubi u heard is the valved or non valved version on the R8

Re: Anyone driven the new Porsche 991 C2S

I guess to each his own at the end of the day. I believe there may be some maser owners here. LOL!

lambo and ferraris can be looked upon as poseur cars as well...just that the price tag makes it unaffordable to most.

The upcoming R8 V8 is on my radar. If the next version is anywhere near as good as the current model, but with a proper dual clutch box, it would be a winner! The much hyped Jaguar F-type seems to have a lot riding on it. We'll see...Next Aston Vantage might be interesting as well. Too bad Aston does not have the R&D budget to thoroughly revise the whole car, so we are prob looking at incremental enhancements. Now that C2S has been crossed out, it's back to the waiting game. Not such a bad thing since i still love my M3 :)

perhaps you should change this M3 for the next M3
M5 is big, fast, comfortable and gives many supercar a SERIOUS run for its money

I can't wait that long :D I am actually planning to get the next M3 sedan to replace my M5. I don't mind the next M3 being less powerful than the M5 cos i don't really get to use all that power for the most part anyway. The M5 is big and comfortable, but as said, my kids are all still tiny. I want a 2 seater sports car and a nice capable sedan.
