BMW 325i vs 523i

Re: BMW 325i vs 523i

go with the 325 if you
1. don't need the space
2. no need to ferry big sized foreign clients

personally i'd choose the 325, because for one, not many owners in sg own a 325, and that makes u stand out in the crowd pretty well.

Re: BMW 325i vs 523i

Just saw another thread with an option to buy 325i E92 from PI's that should be a good option.

Maybe can get cheaper than 325i E90!

I found their webiste.... price may not be updated but should be close. -- Welcome to CyberCars

Anyone know what is the difference between PI and PML E92's?

Re: BMW 325i vs 523i

You have to ask yourself which one do you prefer and decide yourself. At the end the answer will be 50% 325 and 50% 523.

The thread was more intended to see what different aspects people looks at in choosing between the 2. So far, it's been interesting...

Was never meant to be a popularity poll thus 50% : 50% result is probably most likely.

I like the comment about the Envy factor. As written in the 48 Power Laws.... Do not outshine your boss.

Re: BMW 325i vs 523i

Just another note for other guys that may be looking for a 2nd hand option... I just noticed PML also sells 2nd hand certified cars... wonder if those are reasonable.

Somehow I still prefer PML over dealers.

Re: BMW 325i vs 523i

I have just changed from a e90 320 to e60 525. Altought most ppl here will say the 320 is under-power blah blah blah....but its one car which I truely enjoyed both in terms of its look and driving feel. Which till today, I still think the 320 is more agile.

Why I make the change then? Firstly, I was suppose to be posted overseas but the plan was slightly delayed. Secondly, I just have a second child and the e90 leg space at the back is just not good enough for maid + 2 kids. i.e. in short, if space matter, the e60 is a safer choice.

Btw, I am a few years younger than you. So, I think though age may matter. But ultimately is what you feel good in and enjoy that counts.

Re: BMW 325i vs 523i

You can ask in this forum whether anyone selling? used cars in PML are way too high than market price. If you like fun driving go for 325i, comfort driving then go for 523i IMO.

Re: BMW 325i vs 523i

eldwin, I tend to agree with your comments, but I also beleive that you need ot wait a while before you get used to the 5 series. it seems softer but with servotronic steering it is a bit lighter, I didnt get the active steering option. Dont let the quiteness of the cabin foll you into thinking it is softer, I tried some stuff, I can safely say that it is agile as well a bit less feedback though...

Re: BMW 325i vs 523i

Buy 2 cars and the problem is sloved. one for u one for ur wife. Happy ending

Re: BMW 325i vs 523i

DF65, i do agree with your observation. :) The smoothness one gets from the 52X is definitely much desirable as compared to a 320. As in this case, I think it would be of "little" difference when we are comparing to the 325 here.

Re: BMW 325i vs 523i

Looks like 3 Series more likely for me... keep those comments coming guys...

I agree 320i easier to sell and retains more value. More people wants it. 325i is indeed a huge premium for same look.

Re: BMW 325i vs 523i

if u can stretch your budget further, how about the e90 335?
4 doors
the 15% extra dollars you put in converts to 30% extra horses.
quite worth it right?

compared to the 4pot 320, the premium is there but not as high as it seem, the 325i comes with sports steering, i-drive with GPS, electric roller blinds, 17inch rims standard, all these already close to 20K liao...

also they are much much more 320s in the mkt, so i wouldn't say its easier to sell...

15% more is a lot when the number is big big ah! By the way, 20K is comparing against 323i.... I think 320i now about 125k can get... 325i is 178k so that's 50k diff for the list of extras you quoted.

It's always a little more for better car yah.... hahaha... No lar.. I got limit... 180K car is about what I can probably afford. Anything higher, is stretching it liao. Have to drive within or below my means.

If suay suay lose job, every month still have to pay house, eat, utilities, income tax, etc.

Re: BMW 325i vs 523i

if you have to choose between 323 and 325, my view is a 323 is good enough. its about $40k lesser, but u only just lose out on some horses and the i-drive since 17" and rear-blinds are standard.

Re: BMW 325i vs 523i

Wonder how much different the horses will feel.....

323i 2497 cc 177 $158,800
325i 2497 cc 218 $178,800

Only 20k diff ah.... if 323i (highline) diff reduced to 10k.

Re: BMW 325i vs 523i

done any test drive to ascertain first hand the diff?

I only did the 323i... not the 325i. But that stretch of AYE many cars... hard to really test.

I a bit worry freak the SE out so I dun dare floor it too long.

Re: BMW 325i vs 523i

You ask yourself, for the past one year how many times you really need the extra power to drive in Singapore? Moreover, if you get 24 points within 2 years, that's it!
