hi folks

i did some study on the number of coe issued in 2005 and 2006
2005 -cat A = 68456,cat B = 40699
2006 - cat A = 70814,cat B= 46035

i reckon after 2015 LTA will set vehicle population growth per year to 0%.
but come 2015 and 2016,replacement coe will set an record number of new coe.

hopefully, coe drop to $20k by then.

LTA will say cut on the coe to be put back and send coe above $200k due to the extra large pool of owners without cars

my fren told me the other day Vios was like 100k+ liao....i was like puizzzz.....can't imagine paying 200k or more for vios or chery qq in the future

To be exact..its now 130k for 1.5SE Vios..altho I dun know wat SE means.. I thot Sport Edition but there's nothing to be Sport abt Vios

The calculation for COEs to be released was changed to address this issue ...... Not a chance it will drop below 90k in 2015/6.

The number of car COEs (CAT A, B, E) in the last 2 years is about 25k to 30k per year. By comparison, in 2003, about 90k car COEs were issued, and from 2004 to 2008, above 100k issued per year. Please note car population currently is still allowed to grow marginally, I believe 0.5 or 1%.

The reason for the bumper crop from 04 to 08 was largely due to the large numbers of deregistrations for cars with high PARF/COE from the preceding years. The PARF calculation was changed in late 04 and most 05 and later cars are still on our roads.

Hence, we may not see such bumper crop in the next few years, but I'm sure the numbers will be much more than today unless LTA finally finds a way to smooth out the supply.

Then again, COE prices also depend on demand...
