Re: Calling all existing, new, soon to be Z Owners...

Hi,

Just got a 1 year old Z4 (35is, PML). Read the owner's manual etc. But can't find the answer I am looking for. The car is great (so far), but I can't seem to be able to adjust the rear view mirror! Very noob hor? Can any one help? I tried to turn it by hand but it refuse to budge. Didn't dare to use too much strength.

There is a strange translucent knob below the rear view mirror - from the manual, it is to adjust the glare, but I can't seem to turn it too.

What's wrong with me, or the mirror?

Cheers

if i'm not wrong, the translucent knob u were referring to is actually for the red alarm light. i dont think u can turn that one. it sort of flashes red when u turn the alarm on. but the alarm system is actually an option, u might wanna check if your car comes with it.

Yup within that knob, there's the red-light blinking when you lock your car. You can turn the knob and the mirror should tilt up, this is to take off the glare from rear lights. U probably won't need to do that cuz it should come with auto-dimming.

Re: Calling all existing, new, soon to be Z Owners...

Mainly stop-start driving and short distance? Plus luuut your powerboxed accelerator... what do u expect?

I get 10.5 highway and 8-9 city. Whack car 8plus tops..

Re: Calling all existing, new, soon to be Z Owners...

Am on powerbox, but so far never whack hard leh.
Mostly normal driving patterns, occasionally will rev to 4.5k rpm (never above 5k) to pick up speed or merging etc..

50/50 between highways and city driving. If anything, might even be more highway less city

As a comparison, my prev tuned up turbo-4 ride will return 9.5km/l on similar speeds n driving style

Re: Calling all existing, new, soon to be Z Owners...

Yup yup.

Re: Calling all existing, new, soon to be Z Owners...

35i

10.8km/L

Distance traveled 8000km.

Average speed, is 32km/h

Upshift at 1.5k rpm.

Re: Calling all existing, new, soon to be Z Owners...

Hi, read from other Z4 forums that the sound generator mod is free and good. Can't seems to find anything on the web that is noob enough for me to do it on my own. Anyone did this mod before? If so, how's the result? Worth while doing?

(35is)

Re: Calling all existing, new, soon to be Z Owners...

Hmmmm....

Seems like i've got a recall letter for my Z4 in the mail today..
Something about replacing the faulty plug-in contact of the battery's positive terminal.

Anyone else got this letter?
Mine is a 2010 model, sDrive 23i..
