The car radiator is one of the many components in the cooling system that requires proper maintenance in giving the engine a longer life.

When a radiator begins to deteriorate, the engine tends to overheat when you drive a high speed. Although the overheating is not always pointed to the radiator, it is always good to first check the radiator and the coolant side tank for cracks that cause loss of engine coolant fluid.

Warning! Never attempt to open the radiator cap when the engine is hot lest you get badly scalded from boiling coolant.

If you are unsure, drive up to Revol Carz Garage and let our experienced mechanics do a thorough check for you. We will only proceed to repair upon your approval of our fair quotation.

The coolant “Spare tank” or reservoir is usually a robust clear plastic container that “catches” the excess or overflowed coolant when the radiator system is pressurized and boiling hot. The reservoir spare tank is attached to the radiator and engine with hoses. It is the only place where you can fill coolant instead of directly into the radiator.

Since the spare-tank is made of plastic, it is prone to crack over time or if your car is involved in a front accident. Any leak in the reservoir will cause the lost of coolant thus quickly overheating and damage the engine.

If your dial shows the coolant temperature rising abnormally fast, you might have a coolant leak.

Best thing is to pull your car to the roadside if possible and investigate your spare tank.

If you are unsure of your “spare-tank” and the overflow hose are good condition, don’t hesitate to drive up to Revol Carz Garage and let our experienced mechanics inspect or replace them for you.

AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID or in short, ATF is used in vehicles with automatic transmission. ATF typically comes in red or green to distinguish it from other fluid in the vehicle.

The transmission fluid is optimized for the requirements of a transmission such as gear lubrication, valve operation, torque converter and brake band friction.

The modern day ATF contains a wide variety of chemical compounds and additives to improve lubrication qualities such as rust and corrosion inhibitors, anti-wear additives, detergents, dispersants to protect and clean metal surfaces and more.

Synthetic ATF that offers better performance and service life is also available in the after-market.

Check your car manual for the recommended ATF changing cycle your transmission. Most workshops recommend changing it every 80,000 TO 100,000 kilometers.

If you are in doubt of whether your vehicle needs replacement of Automatic Transmission Fluid or what type to use, don’t hesitate to consult with our experienced mechanics at Revol Carz Garage.

A faulty fuel pump can upset the performance of your fuel system and causing the engine to starve for fuel under load. Symptoms such as;

1. poor engine performance,
2. hard starting,
3. poor idling,
4. hesitation,
5. stumbling on acceleration,
6. Loss of power on high-speed.

If you experience any of these symptoms, have your mechanic confirm the fuel pump is receiving the correct voltage. If the voltage input is correct but the pump does not work, it is likely that the electric fuel pump is faulty.

It is important to choose a replacement fuel pump that meets the BMW OE Performance Specifications and same fit as your original.

At Revol Carz Garage, we specialize in repairing BMWs and Continental cars. We guarantee your BMW fuel pump meets BMW factory specifications.

If you suspect your fuel pump is failing, drive up to Revol Carz Garage and have your vehicle diagnosed by our skilled mechanics. Or call our hotline 6555 1171 for a tow if your car doesn’t start or if you need any assistance.

The function of oxygen sensors is to monitor the exhaust stream by comparing the oxygen content in it to the oxygen of the ambient air. When oxygen content is lean, the sensor voltage is high. Conversely, if the oxygen content is high, the voltage out is low.

The voltage generated by the sensor is sent to the Engine Control Module (DME) to compute an optimum fuel mixture. This feedback improves fuel economy thus reduces emissions.

A dead Oxygen sensor will prevent the onboard computer from making air/fuel corrections resulting in higher fuel consumption, emissions and flagging a warning code.

It is common for the Oxygen Sensor to lose its ability to respond efficiently in the air/fuel mixture as it ages. Accumulated contaminants from normal combustion and oil ash can also cause the sensing elements to fail prematurely.

If your BMW experiences a drastic drop in drive performance or stalling, it could mean your Oxygen Sensor is failing and it is time for a replacement.

Visit Revol Carz Garage and let our professional mechanics perform an accurate diagnosis on your vehicle.

Feel free to contact Gavin Tan at HP: 9740 6855 or Randy Phuang at HP: 9851 1447 for their dedicated personalized services if you need any assistance for your car repairs needs.

“VANOS” is BMW’s system that allows variable camshaft timing of the engine. The Vanos unit is part of the BMW 8-cylinder found in the 5-series and 7-series. BMW VANOS equipped engines have a cam gear that is independent of the intake and / or exhaust cam. The intake and/or exhaust cams vary in relation to the crank shaft to optimize engine performance at different engine speeds.

The VANOS Systems fail when the pistons contain rubber o-rings deteriorate over time when exposed to high temperatures and chemicals. Once the o-rings lose their sealing capabilities they fail and can ultimately lead to failure of your engine.

The most common failing VANOS system failures are;

· Noisy idle.

· Loss of torque and power at low RPM followed by a surge of power.

· Uneven power throughout the RPM range.

· Decreased fuel economy.

If your BMW has any indication of the above symptoms or already has high mileage, it may be time to refresh your VANOS.

Revol Carz Garage is equipped with the latest technologies for BMWs and continental cars.

The BMW Oil Filter Housing is reinforced by a rubber gasket that gets brittle and hardens over time and leaks oil. Over tightened oil filters can also cause the gasket to break.

The Oil Filter Housing is under extreme oil pressure. The engine oil will leak if the seal fails and you will get a flashing Oil Warning Light. Always pull up safely and have your oil level checked and top up. Driving with very low oil level can damage your engine rapidly.

Call us for a tow before more damage occur. At Revol Carz Garage, we use advanced equipment and professional methods to pinpoint the source of the leak and fix the problem accurately.

If your car is losing oil too rapidly, it could be due to Oil Filter Housing leaking (or other factors).

Don’t delay driving your car to Revol Carz Makeover for a thorough check by our experience mechanics. Or call our hotline 6555 1171 if it needs a tow or have a chat with our friendly Workshop Manager, Gavin Tan (9740 6855) for a no-obligation consultation

Car servicing is all about preventative maintenance.

A regular service schedule can save you major expensive repairs. Discovering any failing components that need to be replaced before they break down, for example, cooling hoses, timing belt, water pumps, and radiator keep you safe.

Generally there are two types of car servicing. The minor service is required every ten thousand kilometers. The major servicing is generally every thirty to forty-five thousand kilometers.

The best guide for the car owners is to refer to the manufacturer’s manual.

Don’t ignore regular preventive maintenance servicing.

Be warned of touch-and-go gimmicks by some scammer workshops. They advertise irresistible and cheap car-servicing packages. However they only provide a quick, simple servicing job with lube oil from bulk and inferior filters change only- for quick profits.

When your car is serviced at Revol Carz Garage, we go through a carefully orchestrated procedure of double-checking and maintain every part of your car in our servicing protocol.

We communicate with the car-owner for any worn-out or broken parts before replacing.

Our integrity and uncompromising workmanship are important to keep our loyal customers coming back.

Feel free to book your next Car Servicing through Revol Carz Garage hotline 6555 1171. Our competent mechanics are passionate about ensuring your car is safely on the road.

The brake rotor must be able to absorb the heat and friction under braking and can withstand warp. Don’t compromise your safety with inexpensive brake rotors which are made of cheap metals and can warp causing brake pedal pulsation under braking.
Your brake rotors are key safety components essential to effective braking performance. They should be inspected at regular intervals for scoring, wear and cracks.

Generally the lifespan of a BMW rotor is 1.5 times that of the brake pads. Although it is not necessary to replace them together, it is prudent to do so because the rotors don't last long enough to completely "skip" a car-servicing cycle.

A good sign that the brake rotors are worn out is finding ridges around the edges.

Not sure if your brake pads and rotors are worn out yet? Don’t hesitate to visit us for an inspection at

If your car has been running poorly, misfiring and stops erratically during the drive, it is possible that you have bad ignition coils and/or spark plugs.

The most common symptom of ignition coil failures is caused by worn out spark plugs. A faulty ignition coil also causes the engine stall abruptly after the car runs for a while.

If your have been troubled by these annoying symptoms, let us inspect your car’s ignition system for you.

AIR INTAKE HOSE

The air intake hose is one of the most common parts that causes increased fuel consumption and a dirty engine interior.

Air intake hose is made of neoprene rubber reinforced with wire mesh. Over time it is subjected to cracks and damage which allow dirt to be sucked into and clogging up your engine.

Efficient air intake through an undamaged hose (together with the efficiency of the vehicle’s fuel injection system) can increase your gas mileage.

Unsure if your Air Intake Hose is damaged? Spare yourself the hassle of your car engine not achieving the correct air/fuel mixture for combustion. Visit us at Revol Carz Garage and our certified mechanics will check if your air intake hose is in good serviceable condition.

Valve Seals.

If you notice your car blows blue smoke while idling, chances are the valve guide oil seals in your engine have worn out.

Leaking oil is the most common symptom of bad valve seals. Leaks can damage or contribute to failure in the engine. If you find your oil level is low, the first thing is to check the valve cover and oil sump gaskets for signs of leaking seals. The valve seal leak can progressively worsen over time so it is urgent to replace.

Valve cover gaskets

One of the most common places to have an oil leak is the valve cover gaskets. The leak commonly appears in front of the engine or down the exhaust side.

Leak from the valve cover gasket can create a mess. Engine oil can seep into the spark plug holes and contaminate the ignition coils. Check the valve cover once the gasket has been removed. If you find hairline cracks, you will have to replace the metal valve cover and fasteners too.

If you find your car emitting blue smoke or the valve cover leaking with engine oil, don’t wait to drive up to Revol Carz Garage. Our professional mechanics will conduct a thorough inspection with our advance equipment and carry out repair only upon your approval of your fair and transparent quotation.

Feel free to contact Gavin Tan at HP: 9740 6855 or Randy Phuang at HP: 9851 1447 for their dedicated personalized services if you need any assistance regarding your car repair and maintenance.
