It can be very frustrating if your car cannot start especially in the morning when you are getting late to work. If the battery is not depleted, the blame could fall on the starter motor.

To get an engine started, it must be turned (or cranked) at some speed so that it sucks air and fuel into the cylinders and compress them. A powerful electric starter motor does the turning job.

Starter failures are not all caused by a faulty starter motor although some common failures are contributed by worn out carbon brushes, poor contact points or the armature bearing and weak battery.

The starter motor itself may fail due to other internal parts. If the starter is faulty, it should be replaced

If you experience problems in the starter system, your mechanic may need to first measure the starter electrical control circuit.

You can get help immediately with the problem resolved professional at Revol Carz Garage.

Call our hotline at 6555 1171 for help or contact Gavin Tan at HP: 9740 6855 or Randy Phuang at HP: 9851 1447 for their dedicated personalized services if you need any assistance on your car repairs needs

When your coolant pump begins to leak or becomes noisy, your car tends to overheat at low speed or idle. However, when you accelerate, the engine temperature drops. Leaking water pump can result in damaging the drive, timing belt or cooling system.

Although it is not always indicative of a coolant pump failure, it is a good starting point to check the radiator hoses first. If there is no leak and no pressure, it indicates the coolant pump is failing. Never attempt to open the radiator cap when the engine is hot lest you get third degree burn by boiling fluid.

If you suspect your car has a failing coolant pump, drive to Revol Carz Garage for an immediate inspection. Our experienced mechanics can accurately diagnose the root of the problem/s. We will proceed to repair your car only upon your approval of our fair and transparent quotation.

For the safety of our customers and our guarded integrity, we supply only premium OEM or original quality parts for your car.

Hi Everyone,

The gearbox (transmission) is one of the most vital components of any vehicle. Shifting problems or sudden skip in the gear can be a cause for concern. The transmission of the vehicle is subjected to wear and tear due to exposure to extreme heat and frictions.

The Mechatronics module performs complex shifts operations. The gearbox control communicates constantly with the engine control unit and the “communications” determines the ideal point at which to make a gear change.

In short, the Mechatronic components represent the brain of the gearbox.

If your car has any of the following symptoms, our experienced mechanics can help you;

1. Surging in Drive gear.
2. Surging in Reverse gear
3. Lurching off the line from a stop
4. Harsh 2 to 1 down-gear-shifts
5. PRNDS flashing.
6. Bad idling.

Revol Carz Garage offers a complete service on any transmission problem. We have updated diagnostic equipment and expertise to pinpoint the fault in the gearbox such a burning smell, leaks, worn clutch. Gearbox repair or replacement is complicated and is best performed by professionals from reputable auto-workshop for safe and optimum performance.

We hope you will enjoy viewing the following pictures.

Valve seal replacement

If you notice your car blows blue smoke while idling, chances are the valve guide oil seals in your engine have worn out.

Leaking oil is the most common symptom of bad valve seals. Leaks can damage or contribute to failure in the engine. If you find your oil level is low, the first thing is to check the valve cover and oil sump gaskets for signs of leaking seals. The valve seal leak can progressively worsen over time so it is urgent to replace.

Valve cover gaskets

One of the most common places to have an oil leak is the valve cover gaskets. The leak commonly appears in front of the engine or down the exhaust side.

Leak from the valve cover gasket can create a mess. Engine oil can seep into the spark plug holes and contaminate the ignition coils. Check the valve cover once the gasket has been removed. If you find hairline cracks, you will have to replace the metal valve cover and fasteners too.

If you find your car emitting blue smoke or the valve cover leaking with engine oil, drive up to Revol Carz Garage. We’ll jack up your car and have a thorough inspection by our experienced mechanics.

BMW cars utilize an oil sensor located in the oil pan or dip stick. Its function is sending oil level information to the vehicle computer system. The sensor also has a pH detector which monitor the engine oil acidity which is communicated to the CBS (Condition-Based Service) system and displayed to the driver via the instrument cluster warnings.

Engine oil is the essential lubricant that maintains low friction among engine moving parts and additionally cools the engine. Your engine requires a minimum level of oil in its sump in order to circulate sufficient volume and pressure throughout the engine oiling system.

Engine oil picks up contaminants overtime. However, modern engine oils are designed with solvents, anti-acid components and detergents so that they can neutralize the contaminant loaded up to a certain point. Eventually, the ability of the engine oil to protect the internal engine parts from contaminants damage is depleted.

The sensor is prone to failure electrically or it can leak oil. When this occurs, a yellow oil warning light on the instrument panel illuminates.

If a warning light illuminates on your instrument panel, check the dip-stick to see if there is sufficient oil to continue your journey to your nearest auto workshop. To avoid damage to your car engine, we advise you to call Revol Carz Garage’s hot line for a tow to our workshop for our professional diagnosis.

The key role of the shock absorber is to keep the tires in constant contact with the road surface, which ensures safe control and braking response from your vehicle.

Shock absorbers are hydraulic devices that help to control the impact and rebound movement of your car’s springs and suspension thus smothering out bumps and vibrations.

You know your shock absorbers are due for replacement when the following symptoms occur.
  • Your drive feels spongy.
  • Longer stopping distance.
  • Swerving and nose dives during your drive.
  • Vibrations.
  • Your car sliding and veering across the road in mild cross winds.
  • Rattling, rock and roll over uneven surfaces.
  • Uneven tire wears.
If you can’t tell if your shock absorbers are still road worthy, feel free to drive to Revol Carz Garage
Or call our hotline at 6555 1171.

Feel free to contact our friendly Workshop Managers, Gavin Tan at HP: 9740 6855 or Randy Phuang at HP: 9851 1447 for their dedicated personalized services if you need any assistance about your car.

The function of your BMW timing gears is to allow the camshaft and crankshaft to turn the timing chain. The pistons are moved up and down by the turning of the crankshaft which also allows the intake and exhaust valves on the cylinders to open and close. These components are important for optimum engine timing.

As the piston moves downward, the intake valves open to allow fuel and air into the cylinders. As the piston moves upward, the exhaust valves open to expel exhaust air from the cylinders.

If the intake valves are not functioning properly, the correct air/fuel mixture will be able to enter into the cylinders. If the exhaust valves are not opening and close properly, exhaust air will be trapped inside the cylinder.

If the timing gears are failing, the valve timing and ignition timing will not be accurate. Noises from the engine compartment may occur causing the engine to run rough, backfire or stalled.

If your BMW is running rough and noises are audible, pull up safely and call Revol Carz Garage’s hotline 6555 1171 for immediate roadside assistance. We will arrange for your car to be safely towed to our workshop and our professional mechanics will diagnose accurately with our modern auto equipment.

We will carry out repair only upon your approval of our fair and transparent quotation.

The automatic transmission fluid in some cars lasts a “lifetime” but it is a good idea to replace the fluid every 60,000 kilometers.

If you are unsure when you had the last service, replace the fluid as soon as possible will extend the life of your automatic transmission.

Check your car manual to determine the type of transmission fluid for your car.

ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid) fills your automatic transmission as well as the torque converter. Unless the old ATF is drained by a flushing machine, don’t expect to flush all the old fluid out. It is general acceptable that old ATF inside the torque converter will remain and mixes with the new fluid.

Unsure when to replace your Automatic Transmission Fluid? Let our experienced mechanics do the job for you. We will also micro-check for leaks amongst other essential inspection.

Your car engine top is a removable metal valve cover so the mechanic can access the valves for adjustment. The valve cover has a gasket packing (usually made of rubber or cork) which seals the cover to the engine, keeping any oil from leaking out.

If the gasket is worn out, engine oil will leak, causing the engine to lose oil. Running the car too long without the gasket replacement can cause serious engine damage.

Common symptoms indicating your valve cover gasket needs replacement are;

Oil is leaking.

Debris and oil around the valve cover.

Whiff of oil smell coming from the engine when you drive.

Oil found in the spark plug wells.

To find out if your valve cover gasket is OK, simply pop up the hood to look at your engine.

If you are unsure, don’t hesitate to drive to Revol Carz Garage and let our trained technicians perform their professional inspection using updated equipment.

A BMW 520i arrived with mechatronics failures.

MECHATRONICS” derives from a combination of the words, “mechanical” and “electronics”.

In the BMW’s design of the Automatic Transmission, for example, it uses an internal Transmission Control Module and Solenoid Package known as a Mechantronics.

Transmissions with solenoids are known to have problems over time and require the mechatronics to be replaced due to the solenoids being sealed as part of the mechatronics unit.

A BMW 520i in particular, experienced mechatronic failures in the transmission and headed to Revol Carz Garage for an overhaul.

Replacement of the mechatronics unit can be expensive. However, we source our original replacement parts directly from reliable sources which we then code to suit our customers’ BMWs.

Common symptoms for a failing Mechatronics :

  • Subtle jolt from gearbox when slowing to a stop.
  • 5th gear jolt when cruising at motorway speed.
  • 5th to 6th gear shifts are harsh.
  • Delayed engagement of reverse gear.
  • Transmission fail safe mode when shifting from 1-2 and 2-1.
  • Gear monitoring faults stored.

The starter is one of the most important parts on your car. What happens when your starter fails and your engine will not start? You may try to crank the engine but nothing happens.

The car air-conditioning is critical in keeping us cool and comfortable in our ride. The cooled gas chills the air inside the car’s cabin.

The car air-conditioner gets a lot of usage but we may not think much about the compressor working overtime to bring us comfort. The compressor does exactly what the name implies. It compresses refrigerant and sends it to your car’s air condenser.

Like other car parts, the compressor expects to wear and tear over time until no cool air is coming from the system.

Some common symptoms may be the compressor is low in refrigerant due to leakage or fan problem.

If your car’s air-conditioning ceases to blow cool air, don’t hesitate to visit Revol Carz Garage for diagnosis. We have the latest analyzer, scan tools and updated technologies and our certified mechanics will give your car air conditioner system a professional thorough check.

If your car’s air conditioning systems is not blowing cool air to your satisfaction, please don’t hesitate to drive up to Revol Carz Garage for an non-obligated inspection.
