I've already expect a lemon so I'm not really suprised. Just have to live with it and that day I taunt at the car say "Nabei I see what things you can spolit somemore!" Weird right? But I really did that.. hahaha...

COE Exp at June 2013. I'll like to ship in a recon Transmission but dunno if its worth it... How much and where to get? Propel quote me 900+ for a used one...

hmmm over the years Propel is getting realistic, check out the used one, more expensive to import actually buy you get better assurance the tranny is gonna work. Maybe time to gather the E36 blokes for kopi... :))

hello, u put a note on my windscreen last Sun evening? I'm the black E36 owner. Glad to know you.

I also have some issues with my car recently.. the air cond blower and controller went down. Visited Propel to scout for second hand parts. You may like to visit this place as there's always E36s on the chopping board. I got a number of interesting parts this way. :)

Re: E36 318IS with problems

My latest update for my 318IS

Finally all problems fixed by Cyber Cars Service Centre after 5 days.

I'll like to feedback on one of the old time workshop in our workshop list that seems only interested in fixing small easy problems while getting a profit from my end. Even too lazy to evaluate further and caused me to spent unnecessary and had to dipose the newly fixed hardware because they only done half-fxxk-job. I've complained about the my gear shifting always stuck between 1-3 and they told me that my clutch plump and just been changed and can only been due to the gear box problem and I'll have to get one from propel. I told them to give me a quote as I didn't want to spent senseless time to source it and after 1 week with 3 calls to remind them they didn't even bothered to get back to me.

After some considerations before getting a used gear box from propel, I've decided to seek more advises from Zen Auto and Cyber Cars. When I reached Zen Auto, the boss was friendly and patient. He drove my car around and knew that my problem was quite irritating with the gear stuck at neutral in the event of a junction with people honking behind us.
Cyber cars Service centre was intro by my sister's husband as his friend works there and they service many BMWs and E36s too.

Both of them after spending some time to evaluate my car, to my surprise, they both mentioned that the previous workshop only changed the lower clutch plump and kit and by right he should changed the upper clutch plump(harder to reach and more parts to dismantle) as well. Changing only lower clutch plump cannot fixed my problem and changing a new kit cannot solve my problem.

When I mentioned that I have some electric grounding problems, Cyber Cars SC mentioned that my alternator just needs to do some overhaul just by changing some coil inside. After I got my car on the 5th day, I saw smoke coming out of my engine boot and found out that my water radiator pipe had burst. Cyber Cars SC advised me accordingly to evluate the problem and got me a tow trunk to tow it back to their workshop and charged me

I'll be updating with a summary of the problems I've faced + solutions and damage inflicted soon.

Re: E36 318IS with problems

Surprised the workshop was too lazy to advise and change your clutch master pump. It's a common problem on the e36...they should know better. Expose them.

Re: E36 318IS with problems

If you need any help just pm me. Have a full check on your car then plan

Re: E36 318IS with problems

now it's time to change to steel clutch hose. good stuff. ahaha

Re: E36 318IS with problems

His car looking good now but just lack of some WOW factor, not sure wat thou ;)

Re: E36 318IS with problems

I think my car still lack of the WOW factor is because my steering wheel and gear knot is still old and wear out. I think the Red seats and new ceiling really make the car looks fresher... I think by next meet, I'll get a new steering wheel, gear knot and a fresh oil coat inside to make all the plastic parts look shiner and smells better...
I think that should contribute to the WOW factor you have mentioned...

Well talking about expose, I've 2 things to expose...
1) The powderful dealer who told me car is free of problems.
2) The easy to profit then do workshop.

But, I'll like to seek advises and permissions from the Admin and the laojiaoz here 1st before I spread the word...
