E46 M3 CSL or E82 1 Series Coupe???

DJ, I crossed out 335 not because it is not a cruiser. I crossed it out because he does not want something "hardcore" like the E9...........
the 335 is hardly a hardcore. Too distant in fact. It is almost purely a cruiser in stock form, along the lines of Lexus GS, Merc CLS. Comfortable beyond compare, and the forced induction helps the engine get torque at lower rpms, even lowering noise levels beyond the benchmark set by the GS during semi-enthusiastic driving.

Re: E46 M3 CSL or E82 1 Series Coupe???

Thanks for all the help guys, really appreciate it. But after psyching myself with videos of the 135i yesterday I'm kinda hooked, that is unless the test drive proves me wrong. But then again I'm still thinking of the problems I would face with a 2nd hand E46 M3 compared to the new 135i. Any advice from the gurus?

Regards.

I didn't know that the 335 is not comfortable to cruise in on the NS. Is it really so? Is there a somekind of droning sound due to the FI? I've never had the chance to taxi-ride in a 335 on the NS.

I am considering a Golf Gti which is also FI. Is there the same issue. Anyone knows?

i did test drive the 335, imo, one sentence to describe fast and luxurious at this price, comfort level don lose out much to sedan.

Re: E46 M3 CSL or E82 1 Series Coupe???

my guess is the 335i cannot sustain high rpm for long cos of the FI... but shud be ok at NS crusing speeds unless ur caning it all the way....

Re: E46 M3 CSL or E82 1 Series Coupe???

335 is as comfy as heaven...

Re: E46 M3 CSL or E82 1 Series Coupe???

get a 335 sedan.very good cruiser, high torque so engine runs at 2000rpm all the time.comfort and silent.its a beast in disguise and you can smoke on occasions boy racers who wont know what hit them.

Lol wouldn't do that if I drive a 335 sedan... too many sleepers ard.. esp civics with huge ass turbos.. I think if i were to compare the 335 and the 135 I'd most probably get the 135 cos its smaller, dun need the rear seats :) Thanks for the input though

Regards.

smaller would be good if much lighter, but the 135 is NOT much lighter.

Centurion will say that 335 is a lousier car than the Cayman.

100kg lighter ?and most vital is the saving must be there as compared to 335.
i prefer the rear of the 335 than 135 but with if there is no need for space, 135 make better sense. A hot hatch turbo luxurious fast car at this price, drool

Jus did some homework on the weight savings between the 335 and the 135 :)

335= 3600lbs or 1632.9 kgs (2007 BMW 335i Coupe First Drive | Roadfly.com: Car Reviews & Road Tests)
135=3285lbs or 1490 kgs (BMW 1 Series - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

savings of 142.9kg

That is ALOT of weight considering the fact that 2 stock evos in a drag race the one which was 70kgs heavier lost by 3 car lengths (tested many times 3 yrs ago). Damn i think i'm stuck to the 135 for the time being till someone can advice on the 2nd hand E46 M3 issue.

Regards.
