wait for m1,its going to be a winner.maybe 1300kg.

Don't think we're gonna get another M1 unless this norbert reithofer guy is a liar..:lol2:

Q&A with Norbert Reithofer

CAR: In Tokyo, BMW showed a vision for a 1-series coupe with tii genes. Fact or fiction?
Reithofer: 'The response was positive. Expect to see tailormade tii packages in the very near future.'

Q: But the original tii was much more than a cosmetic equipment package...
A: 'True. On the other hand, the 135i already plays kind of a tii role within the 1series.'

Q: What about an even stronger M1 as new top-of-the-line version?
A: 'It´s not in the plan.'

Q: The tii approach epitomises core brand values for BMW. Are your smallest models most likely to get the tii treatment first?
A: 'In terms of sportiness and vehicles dynamics, both the 1- and the 3-series are already well positioned.'

Q: Isn't the danger that the tii suffix could be seen as just decorative? CAR thinks there should be substance to back up the badge...
A: 'I don´t disagree. But we need a bit more time - to define the evolution of the tii theme and to physically develop it.'

Jus did some homework on the weight savings between the 335 and the 135 :)

335= 3600lbs or 1632.9 kgs (2007 BMW 335i Coupe First Drive | Roadfly.com: Car Reviews & Road Tests)
135=3285lbs or 1490 kgs (BMW 1 Series - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

savings of 142.9kg

That is ALOT of weight considering the fact that 2 stock evos in a drag race the one which was 70kgs heavier lost by 3 car lengths (tested many times 3 yrs ago). Damn i think i'm stuck to the 135 for the time being till someone can advice on the 2nd hand E46 M3 issue.

Regards.

My bad :(

135 = 1,560kg
335 = 1,600kg

Mayhem, the weight on the 135 is wrong.....

Go to BMW automobiles - website of the BMW AG and check the specs.

The 135 is 1560 kgs. The 335 is 1600 kgs

Ed..... +1 !!! Sometimes to get one, you've to get both.

The 135 is 40 kilos lighter than the 335......

I'd rather lose 40kgs than get the 135i. Only pull factor to the 135i is the 6 post brakes and most importantly the e-diff. The 335i makes the horsins swarm ard you. All you need is a long tongue to stick out to make your selection.

Re: E46 M3 CSL or E82 1 Series Coupe???

an M is an M. comparatively high running costs and maintenance are inherent in the ownership of one. most M owners treat and care for their cars with respect and love, even if they track them, so you should be ok with a good second hand one.

that said, the 3L turbo engine is a sweet sweet engine. almost a perfect blend of low-end high-end torque/HP, with room for many many mods. ( i believe some forumers have spent in excess of $40K modifying their 335s).

maybe if you ask some specific questions about your concerns with the e46 M3, we can address them. in the meantime, have fun agonising over your choices... this is the fun bit!

cheers

In this context, it is babes.
It wont sound so bad if you look at it from a viscious circle point of view where women are the prey and men are the predators.

I mean I take care of my current ride too but there is still the usual wear and tear issues. pistons wearing out and stuff like that. wouldn't want to purchase the car then spend 1 month in the workshop trying to solve these problems. My mind is pretty much set on the 135 but there are also some thoughts about the M3 afterall its my dream ride as well as a quasi super car :)

Regards.
